I don´t know if it was mention anywhere else but you all know the search function here :D

I´m a little sick of the door transition or better to say the bugs after the cutscene.

In general it was a good idea great view looks cool :)

But being teleported to somewhere out of the map,

or getting stuck in a wall,

or losing a great amount of health,

or a funny combination of these ...

... is not funny. Especially in higher difficulties when you have to use a healing potion just because of this bug hurts.

Don´t know if other are sick of it like me but very few care about the view of a transition if the price for it is losing health, I guess.

Also annoying when someone is low on health and someone else opens the door without hitting the health pot and there is no way to turn around and get it.

The door transition isn't cosmetic - it is there to cover up the teleporting to new zones as Bioware implemented random zone orders.

We've got polls? First I've heard about it.

On topic, keep the teleports, lose the bugs.

Its not the teleport to the next zone i´m complainng about. it´s the short cutscene. It does not always appear and when it doesn´t I never had a bug like losing health.

Edited my OP to clarify that.

Don't give me silly options if you don't like silly answers. Everybody knows I'm basically 7 years old in my mind.

I like the little extra drill (pun not intended) of getting hit on the bottom by the door is supposed to give you an extra boost I wager.

"Stop waiting to be teleported, yer lazee blokes and dun yer deeds!"

It is not, as far as I am aware, the cutscene itself which is the problem. The cutscene covers up the problem of moving from zone to zone in a random order instead of the 1, 2, 3, 4 order we had until recently. To amplify the post by @CremeDelight above, the only solution now would be to revert to a fixed order of zones.

The problem was known during the period when patches were being tested and released, so if the problem had been straightforward to fix it would no longer exist. My impression is that the number of such events has been reduced, though not, obviously, eliminated. On balance, I would prefer to keep the randomised zones.

As the poll options are not neutral, I won't be voting.

honestly - the randomized zones for the 3 original maps don't make these 3 maps any less boring - so imho they could just disappear again

I know there are many more bugs and this one is not the biggest but it can ruin a run.

And for me. IF the there´s no cutscene just direct teleport i never have the bugs.

Something you need to understand is the health loss isnt a cause of the cut scene, its a cause of Bioware's teleport system in place.

The teleport rapidly transitions you from high altitude to low altitude, resulting in massive fall damage.  The cut scene is just there so you dont watch your characters teleport through space and time.

In other words, if the game teleported you with no cut scene you would still have a chance of taking the fall damage, or being misplaced

Conversely, if Bioware added the cut scene to the standard order of zones (Zone 1 --> Zone 2 --> Zone 3 --> Zone 4 --> Zone 5) you still wouldnt take fall damage (you might still be misplaced depending on how they would handle this scenario).

Hmmm I get the characters making a "Urhh" sound right after transition but I never lost health during teleportation from zone to zone.   I don't remember seeing any cut scene either except before zone 1.   Is it because I am on PC and running on SSD?   And by cut scene do you mean the page of tip that flashed by in less than a second that I never really get to read the tip?

My only complaint is that it should be seemless and polished. No grunting from the fall. No losing health. No getting stuck in walls. Things like this should be fixed to shoe integrity in the game and developers work. They could be too under manned to fix little things like this. But this is a big company. It should be polished and work properly. Bioware should have enough pride in their name and their products to give a polished seemless game. This isn't necessarily directed at the development team. As far as any of us know they may just have too much on their plates and need more coders.

This.  I've seen people with only a sliver of health run right on by and open the door, then drop dead almost instantly in the first fight of the next zone.  Not sure if they are trolls or idiots, but either way...

The cutscene consists of a door opening followed by a brief view of the room you are about to enter plus any enemies who will be in line of sight as soon as the action begins.

You may hear an "Oof!" or "Ugh!" if there is a change in level between the current zone and the one you are about to enter. As I understand it, this happens because zones were originally designed to be linked in a specific order so that the exit from one zone was on the same level as the entrance to the next. In some cases you go up to the healing point, in others down, to get to the correct level for the next zone. Once the order is randomised the up or down steps leave you on the wrong level for the new zone leading to a drop on entering. (Apologies if that is not clear, it really needs a diagram.)

When the zone order was first randomised this was a relatively common occurrence, but a patch fixed most of the transitions so that it is now rare to lose health, you just get the grunts. (That does not mean that it is any less annoying when health does occur, of course.)

I'm afraid I am not aware of any company which goes to these lengths with a complex programme. In general I would expect priority to fixing bugs which make the game literally* unplayable. Other bugs are probably assessed in terms of their impact on game play and the ease with which they can be fixed. The 'high impact, easy to fix' bugs will get done first, with 'low impact, hard to fix at the end' of the chain. The last category is unlikely to get any attention.

If someone on low health opens the door to the next zone without using the health pot, they have only themselves to blame. :P

I do get a bit miffed when someone goes straight to the next zone without checking whether anyone in the party is down on health. (I carry potions of restitution on all characters, paranoia keeps you alive longer.) I now tend to hit the pot automatically if I am opening the door, it saves having to bother with checking.

Thanks for the explanation!  Now I am paying attention to it I see the cutscenes.   I actually kind of like it since it gave me a second to figure out which direction to face and which ability to use as soon as I am there.

Why can't they just give the PCs 1 second of walking fortress for the teleport.
