So, I just wanted to come here and give BW some gratitude.  I saw the thread on Friday—the level of toxicitiy /Blar—and wanted to drop in and say thanks to BW.  While the regular chests were nothing special, receiving Dragonscale Armours (+ a dragon call), was a nice surprise and made the weekend challenge worth it.

Main account received dragonscale armors for: Alchemist, Reaver, Hunter

Alt account received dragonscale armors for: Templar, Katari, Avvar

Thanks BW.  I wouldn't mind seeing these armors awarded for futher challenges, until we have the complete sets.  The armours look great too.  Nice design there.

Destiny.  Haven't played in a while, and fired it up yesterday and of all things played some classic Clash/Control in the Crucible.  Had fun with my Warlock, despite mostly getting my ass whooped.  Damn, my purps are like level 20, and now rare level 26 weapons outclass my current legendaries, and my only exotic (Truth rocket launcher).  Yeah, haven't played in a while.

Any players out there tried out The Taken King?  Is it worth getting in your opinion?  I see a new level of Crucible based on this new DLC also.  Anyone tried it the DLC?  Worth buying?

Billy, you play Destiny don't you?  What say ye laddie?

fired up the demo on Destiny yesterday -- is it worth getting into/exploring?

I had fun with it for a while, but burned myself out on it.  It is an MMO so there is much grind involved, but we're used to that with many MP games anyway.  I am hesitant to advise you one way or the other, but yes, fun can be had with this game.  You can play three classes: Warlock, Hunter, Titan, which is nice variation of gameplay/abilities.

Features:

Single Player story

SP co-op missions with friends

MP co-op - Strikes (similar to DAIMP missions)

MP PvP - Control points, team DM, FFA

Raids - (I haven't actually done evenone of them yet)

Since I last played they have brought out new MP maps, a number of which I had not seen until yesterday.  I had fun with MP yesterday, and might get back to finishing off the SP missions eventually.  If you do decide to get this, perhaps we can team up on SP and MP.

I played Destiny enough to clear content that was released then left it alone til the next DLC. Fun gunplay, but the content quickly grew stale for me.

That said, the difference between Year 1 and 2 is staggering. With the new quests system, story expansion, new method of acquiring and leveling gear, new subclasses, new enemies, and awesome new equipment, it's a far more enjoyable game now. There's enough content that I have no plans on playing with two alts like I used to (where I would do everything possible each week for each character in about 4-5 hours of gameplay per week). And the new raid is both challenging and fun.

Frankly, it feels like the game it should have always been. I'd encourage anyone to get it if they really enjoyed the demo.

I actually fired up DAIMP this weekend. I hadn't tried out either the Silent Sister or the Sa'erbaas (sp?) - it'd been a while. Got the hang of the two kits with some level 1 fumbling in a private solo match and wanted to try them out in a team. Figured I'd work toward that weekend challenge, myself. Especially after Billy and Luke teased the rewards amazingness on Dragons n' Donuts on Friday.

3 Quick Match attempts in a row:  "You have lost connection..."

Aaaaand done.

Off-topic:  I'm torn on that other game mentioned above. I want to see all the new hotness in it, but am opposed to the idea of giving them another $60 for what the game should've been when I gave them $60 last year. I actually fired up DAIMP to keep me from hitting that purchase button on Legendary Edition.

Welcome back.  Yeah, that really sucks (DAIMP disco - in this case rather than Disco Duck, it's disco'd!! ****!!).

I am also waffling about getting The Taken King, but I just might, still considering.  I also (like many no doubt) feel the initial purchase was not worth it (so much hype, day 1 purchase...), however a lot of changes and content since then make it seem more of a reasonable purchase now.  If any here want to team up on XB1 please add me to your friends list and let's kick some butt (XB1 GT: LtRobbiesan).

LIked what I got this weekend though I did not get the book chest.  Not sure why.  So, thank you, BW.

Didn't you accidentally miss the Labor Day weekend challenge because of the time limit ending right before you finished it? That would keep the book chest from dropping as you'd have only 4 stars instead of 5 for the overall Book 2, yeah?

Why would anyone have 2 accounts....

You are the 2nd person I've read that has 2.

It takes long enough just to do the challenges on one account...

I think i know what happened. I did not get drakescale because i had already completed for mage. So I guess if you have any it doesn't give you any.

1. Purchase 2 platforms
2. Place both controllers/KB+M side by side
3. Select Silent Sister
4. Roll face over input devices
5. Win

If you had all of them the chest should have just given you a large cache of items, otherwise it would contain 3 drakescaled at random.

I believe if the random happens to be the drakescale set you already got, you just get a large cache of items too.   That's what happened to me.  I got a large cache of salvages. :D

For the large cache of items, I disagree with folks saying it's not worth it.

I got a couple of nice items but 40+ items (with potions) is great regardless.

Thank you!

I didn't get that many items.  I got maybe 5 or 7 or so without the drakescale.  I already have the warrior one, but maybe the random being the warrior one I just don't get any armor but got the rest of the stuff that normally comes with the armor?   Luke said if you get ALL of them (warrior, mage and rogue) you get large cache.  If you have just 1 or 2 of them, and your random is that one or 2, you ended up with a just a few items?   We are talking about the Book 2 reward chest right?
