Does it mulitply the total ability damage by 1.3 or add 30% weapon damage to the ability? For example, Spike Trap does 500% weapon damage. Does the ring makes it 530% or 650%? And speaking of spike trap, the upgrade to spike trap says it adds 25% damage. So does it make 520% or 600%? Either way, it doesn't seem to be worth the extra skill point for the upgrade.
How does +30% damage ability ring work?

It depends on the ring as sometimes it may add more than 30% (like the Hidden Blades ring if I remember right) and sometimes it was less (Spinning Blades ring comes to mind). And I think those were multiplicative. Then there was Explosive Shot whose ring added 30% (though I haven't looked at it since its recent changes happened.)

+30% is just a generic placeholder. The buff could be more or less, may not even work or may work even if tooltip doesn't change (though I think this only applies to cooldown buffs). There is no rhyme or reason nor "logical deduction" only experiential induction.
