I did not recruit iron bull as soon as i found out he was a spy. I also didn't need another warrior anyway since i had cassandra and the warden.

I kicked out Sera right away because she kept complaining about everything which didn't fly with me. She is also really vague about the whole red jenny thing which i dont get.

I thought about not recruitiing Vivienne but she's too nice so i let her stay but pay much attention to her.

I couldn't bring myself to kick anyone out. I like to get to know all of them on my first play through, and decide who i hate after than. Can;t stand Vivienne sometimes, but i respect her somewhat.

Sera bugged me, but that's because she reminded me of myself. Geez, that was hard to put up with ha!

there is really no point in a bioware game to not recruit all possible companions.

First DA game where I liked each companion, srsly didn't hate or dislike anyone. Great cast of characters, might disagree with them from time to time but still liked them for such and such a reason. Also I hate screwing myself out of content so even if I didn't like a character I'll still recruit them. Just seems silly to not.

Vivienne. Too nice? Maker, I've slipped into an alternate universe.

Anyways, I always recruit everyone. Anders will always be my champion boot and kill companion.

I've always recruited everyone in every BioWare game, and have never kicked anyone out. Except for those... unfortunate "incidents" with Mission and the little girl on the ship when I played my Dark Side MC in Knights of the Old Republic.

I've thrown out Sera with one of my Inquisitor's and didn't bother to recruit her with my most recent human noble. She really didn't seem like the type of person he wants his Inquisition to be affiliated with. I also don't like her so it wasn't too tough of a choice to make.

Apart from that I've killed IB in the DLC and let Blackwall die in Val Royeaux in my most recent playthrough.

I've been thinking about not recruiting blackwall recently. Not because of whatever his personal quest involves, but he seemed to be doing a lot of good in the hinterlands. Teaching people how to protect themselves, defending farmers from bandits etc.

I didn't recruit vivienne in my pro mage runthrough. I like her too much for her to disapprove of me.

If the next game let me, Solas will die.

If you are her friend, she is one of the nicest companion.

I want them all, may not like all of them but you never know when you might need them.

I've never not recruited a companion or kicked them out voluntarily in any Bioware game.  The key is 'kicked them out'.  I've had a few die because of decisions I've made, but I've never sent them away.

Vivenne.

This would be the most consistent one for me. I've done over 20 plays at this point so questions like this are hard to answer because at some point I've probably done all the variations!

I always recruit everyone up front, even if they are getting the boot later. The exception being Vivienne a few times, because not recruiting her made it easier to put Leliana on the throne before I knew how to work the system. I've decked Solas, Decked Dorian and made him leave. Kicked out Cole as soon as we hit Skyhold because he was a demon. told Sera to take a hike because I was too elfy on one character and I got tired of her telling me it was all lies. I've made Cassandra a drunk. I've pissed Varric off but he doesn't leave. I've exiled Blackwall, left him to die on the gallows as well. Usually I like him for a 2h tank though.

Sera. I still recruit her on most of my playthroughs, but when I'm replaying the game as my canon Lavellan, I don't even do her recruitment quest. My Lavellan is an atheist and tired of the Dalish culture, but that doesn't mean I want to hear Sera's rants about "elfiness" or magic or... anything, really. She's actually the only Bioware companion I do not recruit every time.

I honestly don't care for Bull or Blackwall, either, but I do like Krem and making Blackwall uncomfortable by asking specifics about the Wardens.  :P

Sure, she's friendly toward the Inquisitor under certain circumstances, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she's actually nice.

I've only ever not recruited Vivienne.  And the look on her face when you tell her you don't need her help is priceless.

I always recruit everybody and never kick anybody out. So I recruited Viv and now hang ugly clothes and hats on her, as she rots in the attic.

Double negative. The question was who did you not recruit - I don't not recruit anyone. :P

I recruit everyone, but the Iron Bull, Blackwall, Sera, and sometimes Varric sit the bench. Nobody has quit yet, but in my current campaign, am seeing more negative comments than before from a few (not using the new Trial settings either; simply am more supportive of freeing the Mages).

And while Viv is not the easiest to like, her banter with Dorian and/ or Solas is worth her tagging along occasionally.
