Aren't you adorable.

You lack the faculties to actually say something yet you keep coming back. Are you waiting for the little cheerleader crowd to show up or something?

The only ones not able to accept Krem for who he is and move on are players wanting to make more of it than there is.

That's it, that's the whole thread and the other 7472852 Krem threads: people making it out to be a huge deal than it actually is and how it's "being shoved down their throats" whereas it's completely optional. Like, it became so damn ridiculous at this point.

The fact that some here are making such a fuss for a little optional dialogue says a lot for these people.

I do believe BioWare are forcing an agenda down my throat.

The Iron Bull romance promotes zoophilia and a disgusting concept that animals should rule over man, carefully disguised with a BDSM themed romance.

Stop trying to make me f*ck animals, Bioware!!

Furthermore I have nothing against zoophilia. I just like to role play and would have liked the option to disapprove of Iron Bull's lifestyle choices.

There only so many tragic "hetero" "gay" "bi" "trans" , whatever, stories/experiences you can listen to, watch, read before you just become so goddamn numb with it all, life's a struggle no matter your colour, race, gender or sexual preference, every man every woman an every child struggles regardless, all struggling differently but all struggling non the less

We dont need to understand all wee need to do is accept the person next to us is just struggling as much as ourselves an accept the fact that much like ourselves that person is human an all that matters is are they are a decent person

Krem's a decent person, that's all that matters

bolded the part that I side-eyed. because no. and I'm not going to turn this into some crusade of knowledge but being who I am...NO. That statement is absolutely untrue. And the only way you could state that is if you're coming from a place of privilege. Period.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

I'm just wondering why everybody loves Krem so much. It's not that I don't like Krem, I guess I just feel a little indifferent toward him. I mean he's kinda just there. I guess I'd probably feel different if he was a companion. But in all honesty the only reason I see to like him so much is the fact that he's voiced by Jennifer Hale. Anybody want to explain why you enjoy Krem's character so much?

I think its mostly because its a trans character personaly I wish I could know more about the whole team of the bull chargers more. Espy skinner she seems like the most violent elf I ever seen in dragon age [ thinks about it-nvm] haha

The real blame should fall on Fifty Shades of Gray.

There's zoophilia in Fifty Shades of Gray?

(... you know, I would totally read it if there were qunari involved.)

Fifty Shades of Gray is not even a decent or small attempt of a example of what bondage or s & m is about in reality. Gah I hate that book, it can burn. I think they did a excellent job when bull was explaining it to the iqusitior.

Uhuh uhuh, okay and that had what to do with my post,oh right nothing at all, merely a false appeal to authority as far as I could tell, an attempt to sound clever by referring to Aristotle, while avoiding the actual topic. So good luck with that, I have no interest in discussing it with you until you make actual points.

That's just never going to happen.

@Jandi, sorry you're getting dog-piled (for the second time in this thread), but I can't say I'm surprised. People with differing opinions are made to feel unwelcome on the BSN (and on Tumblr, for that matter. Though the Bioware fans are waaay worse there.) If it's any consolation, I agree with you. You explained your position and elaborated when necessary, that those who continue to antagonize you have no one to blame but themselves for their willful (and childish) ignorance.

However, Krem wasn't the one shoving his identity down people's throats, really. It was Bioware--and Bull, by extension. Krem makes a nice, subtle passing mention of his identity, and nothing more needs to be said. Bioware, however, made most of the response options "Please lecture me--one way or another--about the existence of trans people," with only one response option to ignore. Krem's comment was so subtle and easy to miss that it doesn't make sense for the "Tell me about them trans folk" options to monopolize the dialogue wheel (especially when we take into account how easily the Inquisitor misses details in conversations). I think substantially fewer people would have complained if it had been less in-your-face like that. Anyone who would complain even had it not been handled so obnoxiously should be disregarded, plain and simple.

With all the options to bring it up, one way or another, it felt like Bioware was screaming, "Please! Let us tell you about trans people! I'm itching to educate!" I know how dysphoria feels; I have to deal with it every day. This isn't helping anyone. Shut up. If people plug their ears and turn away when others preach about religions they aren't interested in or lectures they don't want to hear, how can you expect people to listen to this and respond positively? Next time, I'd suggest trying to be subtler than a giant, blinking neon sign pointing at Krem saying, "THIS GUY IS TRANS! ASK ABOUT HOW TRANS HE IS!"

Bioware are often good at subtlety, but it's painfully obvious--and IMO their writing goes down the tubes--whenever they try to make social statements. The difference is so jarring that it feels like they got some random intern to write those parts. Thankfully, they're more or less few and far between, but hopefully, they'll learn from this and go back to their subtle writing that makes fans go, "Ah-ha! Nice one, Bioware!" That's the kind of stuff people say when listening to Solas after having beaten the game (and Trespasser), among other things. Alternatively, they'll just be passive-aggressive (wouldn't be the first time) and be even worse about it on purpose. :P

Anyway, I happen to like Krem quite a bit, but since he can be dead, there's really no chance for his character to be further fleshed out. Harding, however...

Thanks, for what it's worth.

I find this behaviour pitiful more than anything, because it's so transparent and typical. It's the same people who are professionally offended about tweets that are taken out of context and presented as a press statement.

As you can see, apparently not since the game cheerleaders keep at it.

He and Bull give each other **** all the time. Good-natured ****. He's also sort of the face of the Chargers, when Bull's not around.

So, I like him.

Pretty much this. Plus the fact that he is a transman is cool as hell.

I think a complex character like Krem was handled terribly by the writers, more effort went into explaining Mabari Hounds than Krem, the character just seemed crowbarred in for......well,I don't really know, reasons???.

The complex nature of Krem demands a more fleshed out character in order to understand Krem's unique perspective but DAI's kid cartoon approach to story telling just isn't geared to handle mature characters of this nature.

DAO indirectly tackled the concept of trans-gender via Shale,a classic camp sounding, masculine looking Golem who turns out to be female dwarf,so Krem is nothing new or edgy, just a poorly handled character in my opinion.

If you think that, you obviously don't understand what transgender means.

Well,I'm trying to understand Krem......Krem is a man trapped in a female body,so I'm interested who Krem hooked up with.

Someone transgender isn't someone who just happens to look and sound like what's typical of the opposite gender. Shale was originally female and still identified as female, the way her golem self looked wasn't a factor. Either way he wasn't created to be "edgy."

Here are some of his lines you probably missed that may help you understand his position (the first part at least, it looks like someone also wrote their own romance dialogue) http://raedmagdon.co...romance-sample/
