Now I'm really hoping mages in DA4 can use an alternate off-hand weapon and a one-handed staff. Yes please. Actually, a Staff-and-Shield mage sounds pretty awesome.

Nah, we had a sword and shield mage in DA:O and they took that away from us when they split weapons up by character class. I have a feeling we won't see a return to that unless they unlock weapons for all classes.
