I would like the main character to be like Han Solo, a smuggler and thief type character.

They get contracted to steal the new Mako the Alliance built. The plan goes wrong and the main character and their 2 team mates just steal the ship that houses the Mako. While trying to outrun the Alliance ships they unknowingly activate the tech that takes them to Andromeda.

Han Solo was one of the good guys.  That might qualify as a Star Wars spoiler, but that movie did come out a while ago.

He was a good person, but his profession wasn't that good. that's why said "good guys". That's the kind of character I think would be fun to play as.

Just a little while ago. Like before many of the people on the board were born.

I hope we get to decide for ourselves what "good" means, and whether we care about it.

They just need a true "Renegade" path, assuming they use the same morality system. Meaning you actually have the choice to abandon the Alliance at some point. What they should have done with Cerberus in the second and third game.

On that note, it's not like the Alliance is established in Andromeda? Even if they still manage to have communication with the Alliance after entering Andromeda, I imagine the PC will lose contact with the Alliance after the Crucible. And then who's there to tell them what to do and how to operate? (Just speculation though.)

We are a Pathfinder for the Alliance.

Have they confirmed that the Pathfinders are part of the Alliance? I would think the Citadel Council would would make more sense as being behind the colonization effort, considering its likely the colonists will consist of several species.

Not that it would surprise me if the Pathfinders do turn out to be Alliance. If its one thing the series has done consistently it was portraying humans as special snowflakes. (UGH!)

Well, at least one of our crew is part of the Alliance and graduated from the N7 program. Do not make fun of me if I end up being wrong in the future, but I strongly believe we will end up being apart of the Alliance.

I personally hope that the whole Pathfinder initiative is of Citadel Council design... but It could also be just the Alliance's take on the colonization of Andromeda. In the leak it mentioned something regarding a Krogan colony ship. It could be a MW joint race initiative. The premise is all very misty, and rightfully so.

One of my favorite story elements in ME1 was that humanity was not center stage and had to prove itself in order to be seen in a more respectable light.

I wouldn't make fun of you.

I disagree with people from time to time, but usually don't get personal unless they're acting like dicks or turn up the snark. I've never really seen you roll like that in one of your posts. Besides, I'm wrong as often (or more often) than I'm right when it comes to speculating.

All I want is the renegade/paragon system gone. I hate when choices are put under "good" and "bad"

Do we know that, or have we just seem the armour?

With the game being set well into the future, will the N7 even represent the same thing?

I still think (hope) it was just a callback for the trailer to establish that "yes, this is a new Mass Effect game." I'd be very disappointed if we're alliance military again.

I'm also hoping it is set well in the future, but I feel like there was another leak that sets it just ten years later, so who knows?

When they said well into the future, I was hoping for a thousand years, not ten.

It would be nice if the narrative took a balanced approach regarding the whole situation with Andromeda, and the whole survival vs. imperialism angle that can be explored, but I'm not sure that we will see it. My money's on the Keht being evil, racist, jerk holes because 'reasons' and that the unified Milky Way refugees humans will be entirely justified for shooting everyone of them they see in the face.

I would love to be proven wrong however.

Hmm, do you consider Cerberus good guys?

I hope we're not the clichéd "white vs black" good guys similar to what we saw in DAI.

I also hope we a proper and improved Paragon/Renegade playthroughs

Are you implying that we might have another Conrad character? Who dresses up in N7 armor and pretends to be a N7...

Then you can kiss good storytelling goodbye.

It's an ME game. You're either going to be the third coming of Jesus (Shepard was second) or Satan himself. No middle ground.
