For me, it's trying to get to a certain location and it seems like I'm always at the bottom of a mountain and to get to the top its just left turns over and over again, and even still you can never get there!  All the time, over and over, never getting there with no way out!  Mountains that can't be climbed!  I'm so tired of this!!!

The side content rarely captivates me. The open regions needed more NPCs, which ties into my first point slightly. The main story should have had a couple more quests. The final mission should have been far stronger. Many non-cinematic conversations should probably have been "cinematized." I would have liked a "real" city, although Skyhold sort of covers it. The game's a bit too glitchy. I wish there were a way to disable the resource-gathering animation on consoles.

Mind, there's a lot I do like about DAI.

You have to be a hypocrite to have friends, if you don't suck the boots of your companion they hate you (Yes Vivienne, I'm looking at you)

Not enough shards to collect ruined it for me when I had to waste time on the story and meaningful interaction with companions. Just seems like may companions should have just focused more on discussing the important shard hunt. Evil magisters skyholes aren't just going to shardt themselves. I don't see how we can save Thedas without more shards.

Hopefully DA4 will have many more pointless shards to collect. Instead of just adding ridiculous shards to have to use jumping and swearing to get they can also add a crawling movement to find shards you have to crawl to get. And might as well make us hate our mounts and add shards you can only get while mounted. You will need to collect all 300 plus shards to reach the final boss shard boss. The final boss can be a return of Orsino as the harvester made out of shards. You never get to the final boss because you can't quite crawl-jump to get that last silly shard to open that last door.

I don't like feeling rushed at the Winter Palace and that there are not enough Halla statues to open the doors.

I suppose the lack of direction in some zones, Storm Coast and The Hissing Wastes seem to exist for the sake of existing (and recruiting Iron Bull). More zones needed to be like Crestwood as that zone actually had a story that sent you all over the place and some interesting developments at the end.

I also dislike the lack of music when travelling through zones, things that made me love games like TW3 and Skyrim was the music you heard while travelling through zones, I also disliked the lack of day and night cycles there's also a lot of other issues such as the side quests which reminded me of WoW back during it's Vanilla period.

The UI and controls especially mouse & keyboard. Still lacking compared to what Origin had.

Not enough conversation, the need to be a billy goat to get anywere, I felt there should have been trophies for as may miles I walked and one for as many times I tried to jump up to get somewhere. Not enough potions, I want some more DLC just one or two more.

No if>then Tactics system. I want to be able to customise the AI so I can trust my companions to manage themselves in most battles and just control my main character like I did in the first two games :( .

Fetch quests, so 60% of the game. The rest was alright though.

The very unsatisfying tactical camera, The 8-slot ability bar, the class restrictions on weapons and armor.

Too much focus on size and too little on substance, when it comes to the world. The huge areas and insane amount of fetch quests cause a feeling of detachment from the main story. Would have been way better to scrap three or four of those huge outdoor areas and, instead, build a big city (Val Royeaux is still my biggest disappointment with this game) to give more depth and better development to the politics and the civil war, instead of packing it all in the Winter Palace.

So: Less filler areas, less fetch quests, more focus on urban areas linked to main plots. AND MORE SANDAL!

Apart of that, I loved the game.

Romance and more romance then some more romance ,I want to come back to Skyhold after a long day closing Rifts and killing Demons to snuggle up under the covers to my chosen love , I cant even sit down or lay on my bed in my quarters .

So please Bioware give me contact with my chosen love instead of finding her always practising with her sword and agreeing to a two second cuddle upstairs in the inn .Oh and let me craft a ring for her :))

Let me correct this for you, sir: "I need help taking my clothes off now that I have lost my limb."

Though I don't necessarilly like the 8-slot bar, I can work with it.

Armour isn't restricted by class once you get silverite, just by race.

Main sotry should have been longer. The fact we have no cut scenes in normal dialogue. Takes me out of the game.

Going back through the Hinterlands at level 15 to clean up a few lingering quests and all the enemies are made of tissue paper.

I don't mind entering a zone that is too tough for me, but at least scale them up to my level.

The 8-slot bar is a bit restricting, but easy enough to work with.

But other than that, the only real complaint I guess I have is about the fetch quests. Doing so many fetch quests in such a large game is really tedious and sort of pointless; fast traveling to the nearest point helps to an extent but the rewards don't make for very great incentive.

edit: someone else brought this up, and I agree - the ending is indeed weak without the Trespasser DLC, which I'm in the middle of right now.  :D

Once I got used to the "open-worldness" of the game, I started to like it more. My three main complaints are:

1. Too few main quests, i.e. main story not sufficiently long/complex. What was there, I liked very much, but it'd be nice to have a couple more after Skyhold instead of merely Adamant / Halamshiral / pretty much endgame. This also presents me with pacing issues as there's too much side content relative to the main path. The problem only worsens if one plays through the DLCs.

2. Side content not being sufficiently integrated. I don't need some overarching plot that links all those maps together, but it'd be nice to have at least some larger goals in the majority of them. Crestwood is a solid example of a map that had a story attached to it -- Hawke for starters, and the whole deal with the dam and the old village beneath the water. I'd have appreciated something to that effect in some of the other maps.

3. Pertaining to side content, way too many fetch quests and not enough colourful and important NPCs. For example, the entirety of the Fallow Mire -- a map I love, by the way, for its oppressive atmosphere and gloomy visuals -- had only one NPC you could briefly interact with. Storm Coast is even worse: if you don't recruit the Blades of Hessarian, there isn't a single NPC on the whole damn map (not counting The Iron Bull, of course).

Oh yeah, we need to be able to see who we are talking to during important conversations rather than being so far away and trying to see through the dark scenes. Focus should be closer, during conversations.

They have done. It's in the trials options, the mobs will scale to your level but I believe things such as cloth will not.
