He is different from Corypheus.
If he succeeds, will the people on the "other side" (the Spirits), return to being ancient Arlathans? Or is the generation after them going to be the true heir. Will some city elf's super great grand father return as he was in Arlathan, or will he be retarted in someway.

I don't think so. Tevinter doing slavery, Orlais razing south thedas to the ground in their expansion, blights, chantry opression against non humans and mages. Current Thedas is in pretty bad shape with constant issues popping up.
Again, morality hardly is a reason to be shocked considering the kind of society Solas lived in.
