As in how much barrier do u get when hit? And is it actually worth using?

im also curious as to how often it procs and barrier amount.
and from description i assume it meant that it may proc when u getting attacked instead of when u hitting the enemies? that would make it much less useful in my opinion.

I found the amulet extremely useful for my DW Rogue. I'm not sure how much barrier you get on each hit exactly, but since as a melee rogue she goes right in the thick of things she ends up with full barrier during the majority of fights. The only thing that killed her after I put the amulet on her was the dragon's poison. (Playing on Nightmare with a level 27 party, no trials on). It might not be as useful at range, but for melee classes it's pretty great.

I agree, the only benefit that I could see is, it adds a blue swirl effect around your character all the time, but there's no clear benefit to it for tanking classes. It's my understanding that the barrier gain is based on the amount of damage received, which means it's reduced in effectiveness the more armor you have.

How about for reaver classes. Does it work there?

edit: for clarification: do you gain barrier as you do the dragon rage attack?

For reaver better use the sigil of the bronto and the passive in vanguard which gives you 25% more guard. With that passive alone you have 50% hp as guard, add the bronto sigil and now you have 100% hp as guard. Guard much easier to generate with the new horn of valor and charging bull. With this setup i have guard = 100% of my hp, your resistances apply to guard btw not to barrier, and i can generate guard whenever i need via valor horn and cb.

Issues with barrier is your resistances do not apply to barrier thats why we have barrier going in 1000's. Guard on the other hand is best considered as ablative health and that is why the amount of guard is less than barriers. For warriors guard is generally better bet.

Now the best amulet i figure for a reaver is the second wind amulet which gives reaver stamina on kill (thanks bigdawg). Increasing stamina is kind of pointless for reaver as ROP drains stamina at a rate of 5.1% of your stamina pool. So the more stamina you have the more it will drain. Better to get reliable stamina regeneration via the amulet, warriors resolve passive (works on guard too) and deep reserves.

O.o I had it on melee rogue for hours and she never got her barrier.

For me it's pretty immediate. As soon as she gets into a fight she starts gaining barrier, and pretty much only loses it when she's not actively fighting.
