So it's obvious that many will want a familiar musical experience in ME:A. One that isn't outside of how the previous entries sounded, but I'd prefer a broader approach that has more variety. Ideally with slightly different styles in different sections, such as standard ME like music and in another part a more Classical like Space Odyssey 2001 or John Williams, and in a different part a more Hans Zimmer Dark Knight Trilogy/Inception/Interstellar style.

I wouldn't mind it, it just has to fit. And be different enough that I am not thinking "Hey I heard this in ME1." The exception would be the Galaxy Map (or equivalent), since it hasn't changed for three games anyway.

With the exception of the Galaxy Map theme (Uncharted Worlds), I don't want any of the same or familiar themes from the trilogy whatsoever. That's goes for Vigil as well. Those themes should remain a signature of the Shepard/Reaper trilogy.
That being said, I'm crossing my fingers and really hoping for a return to the synth style soundtrack that was so atmospheric in ME1. Don't get me wrong, I love the orchestral arrangements from the sequels but nothing really gets me like the first game.

I dunno, some of those techno beats in ME2 (in Afterlife) were pretty good.

I hope it has a similar vibe as the soundtracks for the three games that came before it...basically a mix of synth and epic orchestral compositions.
If we're talking about celebrity composers being brought in to collaborate on the soundtrack, similar to Clint Mansell or Trevor Morris, my vote would be for either Hans Zimmer or Daft Punk. Not that one is needed...I think the series is in good hands with Sam Hulick at the helm.

Sound and music captures atmposhere so much that they would be unwise to stray too far from previous games if thry want it to stil feel like a mass effect game.

I wouldn't mind hearing re-recorded pieces from the original trilogy's score. for example, the Therum battle theme was under-used and far too cool to be neglected.

Totally forgot about this track... brings back memories from my first play through. It just sucks you in from the start with the atmosphere, especially the beat in the background toppled with the analog synths... love it! Oh, and I LOST SHIELDS!

The Mass Effect soundtrack is absolutely incredible and honestly, lifted the game above and beyond.
The soundtrack really helped make the series, in my opinion. It fit so well.

To be honest I don't think Daft Punk and Hans Zimmer would be a good fit in the ME universe. Their sound is too notable and would disregard the feel that previous ME scores had, or make it sound like something other than ME... closer to something else in these artists repertoires. I think Sam will do the music justice, what he has written so far was absolutely brilliant, stylistic - unique to ME - and memorable. If there were a collaboration, I would love to see Michael McCann, the composer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution work with Sam. Now THAT, would be interesting.
