Neither interferes with the others usage so no reason not to use Clyde's build unless you feel like you need 6 ranks of fitness. FWIW 6/6/6/5/3 on the Slasher is my preferred build as well.

I run the same build too (which brings an insane amount of destruction) with the high lord, but I'll give the venom a try on him

Single best Venom kit in the game IMO rivaled only by the QME. 

 

That said maybe not the best kit to kick the training wheels on a weapon with though.

Ah yes! That kit too! Drellguard does require a bit of learning curve but once you get the flow it's one of the most entertaining kit to play imo

Also if you don't rage gel with Drellguard you're doing something wrong hehe

Jokes aside, I know I always advice to use the Claymore, but the Slasher is a seriously perfect fit for it. I mean, if I were forced to lower the number of kits I use the Claymore on, the Slasher would be among those 2-3 which I would consider completely non negotiable.

If the scorpion and the acolyte were to mate, the venom could be a conceivable offspring.  Like others have said, it pretty much goes well with any class and trivializes all non-boss units.  I have only used it a handful of times, and decided that despite its benefits, it is waaaay to annoying to be enjoyable.  IMO, everything about this gun is annoying.  The sound, the screen shake, the fact that rounds don't explode enemies, the inconsistent firing mechanics, the charge mechanic, etc.  These days, if I want that kind of cheese I just take the Reegar.  It kills things faster anyways.

For extra lolz, put it on something like the valkyrie with warp ammo. Run up to the enemies (With AF on) whilst charging venom, warp+venom at the same time. Also remember aoe damage, and charged shot cluster bounces, pull off all the corner/cover trick shots, no enemy is safe.

Valkyrie's one of my favorite Venom kits. Krogan Shaman is another (any Shockwave kit goes great with Venom, really).

 

Ocelot- also consider Venom GI, HM+PM+Cloak drastically mitigates the Venom's sole shortcoming- single target DPS. Its obviously already great vs. mooks, but on the GI it also becomes extremely effective vs. bosses. Also, you don't have to worry about the excessive weight at level 1 on an infiltrator, and because Geth your gear slot is free so you can use Assault Loadout or AC5 or whatever to make up for the ammo shortage (i.e. at level 1).

It's probably one of the top 3-5 kits for being a scorewhore, I have no rational explatation for it being so powerfull but it is. I still have to determine if it's better with incendiary ammo.

Put on TSent.  Use interesting ammo power (incendiary, disruptor, cryo).  Lock down entire spawns with triple overload/Venom spam and explosions.

 

At least, that's my preferred method.  Some people would no doubt say keeping the enemy constantly staggered and overloaded/neural shocked and frozen/burning/electrocuted is somehow "unfair" or "scrub tactics" or unsporting.  However those people are insufficiently committed to Sparkle Motion and are to be ignored.
