I'm reasonably sure stick click has no current function in Xbox ME3MP
so like maybe left stick click to voice chat and right stick click to toggle aim assist

well when I added moonshines original contorller parts in the UI looks significantly worse as its for xbox sized screens so everything is big. I think I know how to make it smaller.
Todo list
Consumables don't work at all
Appearance still locks you into the text editor
UI needs to be either all xbox or all PC sized, maybe i'll make two versions of the mod
D pad does not work in main gameplay
people can't seem to connect the game and i cannot connect to others, probably a coalesced issue.
hint boxes don't show the correct thing
lobby UI bar at the top is in the wrong position
lobby UI bar has the wrong icon
Xbox live party button is still visible
challenges window has a PC button for some reason
If this project get's done. I will.
People who use controllers on PC to play shooter games give me cancer. You're better off just learning how to use the mouse and keyboard, it isn't rocket science, it's just pointing and clicking.
Everytime I see a vid from development where they use a controller with the PC version I'm like "they'll be giving us a crappy port from console". Why anybody would want to play a shooter with controller is totally beyond me.

It doesn't give me the illusion that I'm using something to aim. Like how you use a steering wheel to drive a car instead of having your hand a top of a toy car and pushing it where ever you want. ie. Folks don't play racing games with mouse, but with gamepads or preferably a racing wheel for true racing feel and action.
And again. Most games where designed with a gamepads/Arcade sticks in mind. Like you aren't going to play Gradius or R-Type like this;
Because it's as crazy as it looks + where's the challenge in that?
Ditto for fps games. Less challenge & skill required. Why I always say. Show me a sniping video on console, and I'll be impressed. Show me one on PC, and I won't even watch it.
Then there's comfort. But I don't think I need to add anything for this.

sorry but this argument is a pile of nonsense. there is no comparison between racing and fps/tps games.

Unless.. I *could* imagine someone having the idea to replace the WASD for a controller. But not for aiming. Contoller + mouse: Is that a thing?

It wasn't a comparison. It was the best example I could think of. For fps, It would be like the comparison between aiming a real gun VS with a mouse in fps. One requires a lot more skill then the other, thus makes you feel more "involved." I guess that would be the key word. And again, it's best in the driving example. Driving is fun. Pushing a toy car, not as fun. Mouse gaming always gives me, personally, the impression that I'm pushing a toy car. I want the real thing. That's why playing with a gamepad is so much more enjoyable to me. You could also say like controlling a toy car by remote (aka, the gamepad) instead of having to push it (aka, the mouse).
And not saying one is right or wrong. Just preferences.
As whenever I take a break from ME3mp, it's to forget some of the skills & hand eye co-ordination/aiming skills I develop.
I was with you up to this point. Why would you want to forget hand-eye coordination?
Because the game gets easier and more organized otherwise. That aiming skills is basically the biggest challenge in these games (ie. consistent headshots = consistent stagger and considerably higher dps). Why I'm surprised the genre is still thriving so well on PC with the higher easy of mouse aiming and what seems like barely any advances in fps genre (but I'm no expert in this genre at all, so don't take my word for it).
But there are other things I start forgetting. Like that feeling when you haven't drove in awhile and all of a sudden your behind the wheels again, you realize you need to focus way more for the first hour or so on things your mind handled second nature. Basically as you play the game you get better and better at multi-tasking, predicting spawns, adjusting to unknown variable pug factor in the mix, different kits and build, and so on. These things I actually start forgetting very slowly or they aren't second nature anymore with long enough breaks from gaming ME3mp.
It's also how I keep replay value of my fave games going. ie. The only games I've played this generation are Skyrim, Mass Effect Trilogy, Fallout 3 and Demon/Dark Souls series. Of which only ME3mp and Dark Souls series I consistently return to everytime in rotation like clockwork, because challenge is still there when I return. Challenge is the ultimate replay factor in all games. Why my other gaming consist mostly of retro gaming like Arcade (via MAME), NES, Genesis, Saturn and so on.

There are other ways to make the game more challenging. Take Uncommon weapons, use Rank I or II equipment instead of III or IV, make it a personal goal to score 20 Headshot Medal every game, spec some melee kits. These are just off the top of my head, and are examples of what us old-timers used to do in the days before the Internet and Achievement Points.
Old, not obsolete.
So now we have a working HUD (but its the wrong size) and just about everything works so far, except hints show the wrong thing and the Dpad in MP doesn't work for some reason. I am currently trying to figure out why I can't join lobbies, but testing it is hard because I essentially have to disable the ability to input things to figure out which file is causing the problem. Which makes for some interesting ways to start the game.
I wish I knew the connect command. I know its there, I see it, but I don't know what parameters to use. Problem is not many people are online on my origin right now... I am thinking that maybe since we are acting like xbox in the GUI file, it's passing the constant value we are using (in this case we appear as xbox) to the matchmaking bot and we are getting paired with xbox users and getting disconnected immediately (maybe wrong client or something). It's al ong shot but its all I got.
Update: We have narrowed it down to modifications in Startup.pcc, a file we copied from moonshines mod.
Update 2: Off host we cannot seem to fire... why, oh why would you replicate inputs bioware.

Already done the uncommon weapons and level 1 consumables to death. (If you check my N7 HQ, my lvl 1 stuff are the only consumables in the double digits or close too, while the rest higher lvl stuff - near 255). http://social.biowar...&platform=xbox#
You mean challenge points? I was into weapon challenge points at one time (again, check my N7 HQ). But once maxed manifest happened at 1200hrs, I finally started focusing more on the Harrier and Lancer (weapon challenges that otherwise flew by way too fast when doing their challenges VS un-common that took forever sometimes).
Other handicaps? Well, I'm must be only one of few that don't back out of the weakest Gold lobbies.
And why isn't there more then 20 headshot medals? Which reminds me of this game's scoring system. Wish it was tighter. As score is another form of replay, but I don't get much satisfaction from the score system in this game. Maybe BioWare will do a much better job in next ME game. But doubt it because they're a western developer that can't even test their games above Silver... but Aramax & Collectors does show promise of good improvements. So who knows...

I like the mouse but hate the keyboard so have been experimenting with a hybrid, but not controller + mouse, I've been using joystick + mouse. The latter for aiming obviously but a joystick in the left hand for moving and using powers. The joystick hat switch is particularly useful, and reliable; e.g. left for Power 1, up for Power 2, right for Power 3, plus you of course have another trigger and other buttons to assign. Using Pinnacle to map the joystick commands. Early days but I'll post again when I have it perfected.
lots of more nonsense.
go say that on a quake/unreal/starcraft 2 portal and they will laugh you in the face. your argument is dumb. its like telling why do people play football how they play nowadays instead of playing with tied legs. its harder to play with tied legs. why are we using our legs in a marathon, lets just use wheelchairs instead, because its harder.
i think its quite safe to say steering wheel is the way to go with a racing game, and mouse is the way to go with fps games. just like joystick was the way to go with flight/space simulators.
and talking about challange and mass effect in the same sentence is quite interesting.
^ Where did that come from. As I though I mentioned it's a matter of personal opinion. My personal opinion.

that sounds awesome
Does the PC version remove the awful motion blur of consoles or have an option to turn it off?
Seems like more and more console games have this lame feature.
Weird that BioWare had it in and just never bothered to add to option menu for us to toggle it off.
And why is motion blur for camera movement so popular? As in, there are folks that actually enjoy it? I really find this hard to believe. There's must be a more sinister reason behind it...
On PC I haven't seen motion blur in MP. I think on PC it is off by default. I notice in their trailers there is a lot of extra post processing, I'm wondering if its posisble to turn that on.
I need some people online to test with on origin. I don't want to have to test the inability to fire against PUG clients. Essentailly just need players to join my lobby and attempt to fire, and host a lobby so i can join and attempt to fire. Pretty much just turn god mode on and let it sit.
i think motion blur is on, but we have the mass effect configurator.

The motion blur is there to smooth the motion so you don't get the slide show effect when the camera moves rapidly. Cinematographers have been doing this for a century or more.

I figured frame rate. But then why does 60fps PC have it? (Or does it? It's when you turn the camera left and right, the entire image or at least all background graphics, blur)
And I still can't imagine it being worse at 30 frames. Maybe PS3 20 and under. But surely not 360's solid 30 frames. As I don't remember there being motion blur for this in PS1/Saturn era. And things were fine (unless 720 & 1080p intensifies this too much), where only a handful of games ever hit 60fps. The rest of that era's games where 15-30fps... wow, we've come a long way. >_>
And quick; someone name a game that doesn't have this so called feature on 30fps console. I want to see this for myself.
