Personally I love the Harrier. Yeah it feels a little corny to use on some kits (cough destroyer and ghost) but it does the job of murder death kill quite nicely.
I actually find it hilarious how BSN complains about this gun when it's a DPS machine given the number of threads and replies that talk about how DPS is king and the most important focus point for platinum and of strong consideration for gold; so am I missing something or did the devs essentially give us what we wanted here? Also is the gun or the association that gets the most ire? After all a harrier complaint tends to also have the words TGI, didn't help with the objectives and scorewhore mixed together in the same sentence.

One of my main concerns actually, i havent played it on plat so i wouldnt know. I guess its best waiting for the last upgrade, at least some of them.

You still only have 6 clips worth of rounds max. Better off with a maxed lancer.

Well especially because ammo boxes give less ammo on Plat, the Harrier is even more maddening on Plat than usual. Just use the Typhoon or PPR, or better yet, a shotgun.
Or use Saber. Saber is the assault rifle king. Doesn't require piercing to be effective vs armor, no spare ammo problems, no wind-up time, amazing sound. Saber.
I just tried it and its a pretty good weapon. One thing was better, i didnt have to run for bullits to often. With a mag upgrade and the extended barrel this is a weapon i havent played for the last time. I was surpirsed by the low amount of shots required to kill mooks, it felt almost like a shotgun. No matter i stil find the harrier superior. I cant see the problems of the small magasine. Like someone says earlier in the thread, there are depots all all over and when you run empty you are most certainly near one of them. With a mag upgradxe that issue is further reduced.
I love the Saber. It is a badarse killing machine. I love in on my Quarksman, I love it on my 'nadeless BatSol, I love it on my VolSent. And most of all, I love popping mookheads with it. It is a gun that excells against mooks, whilst still being good against bosses. My one problem with it is that I sometimes have issues with it offhost, it could be my imagination (probably is, since it's not all the time), but shots seem to not always go where the crosshairs are offhost. (I'm not confusing it with the Crusader).

Just wondering when it got fun to be idiotic. The harrier is a boring weapon but no one can argue with the efficiency of the weapon unless they can't shoot worth a damn.

I can be efficient with a cup of water when stuck in the middle of the sahara for months, but the supply just will not last.

To be honest, the only thing that can make a gun like the Harrier inefficient is the player using it, it really is a great gun.
Well, while I agree with that, it has happened to me that I've found myself on Dagger Hazard and been awarded 6 rounds at a time from the ammo crates. I hardly ever use the Harrier, but if I do, I know to take a sidearm ![]()

For me, Sidearm to a Harrier means "CSMG", a gun that will never run out of ammo, and not suck. Having them both are level 3 is a slight weight burden, but otherwise, they're a good combo, imho.

Not everyone can be sirian and have jay haxahax auto shoot spawns with a DX plugin on the other side of the map. Some people play with pugs.It will last if you only need to survive 20 mins
Well piercing mod + extended barrel + warp ammo does more damage against barriers, armor and health on any kit, and same gun setup with incendiary does even more damage vs armor. But it's true that the gain is not huge. I'll give the extended mag a try neverheless.
Yeah - but you're not factoring reload time in for extended DPS - though it's pretty quick to reload it does make a difference.
AP mod + Extended mag + Warp/Incendiary ammo is the way to go IMO.
The problem (if you can call it that) with the Harrier is that there isn't a single kit it doesn't work with. It might not be optimal on some builds but it's the ultimate workhorse gun; light enough for casters, accurate enough that you don't need stability bonuses (Turian/Destroyer), does a decent amount of damage per clip and has a pretty good fire rate.
The only downside is the limited ammo.

Dagger Hazard and Condor are really the only maps where I actually felt an issue with the ammo constraints. Maybe it's just me but I never had these issues with the ammo supply.
