I usually don't max out my drone....

This makes me sad, makes your drone sad, and also makes you sad, even though you don't quite know why you feel that way.

hard to say who would win. my bet is who sees the enemy first. drone or overload stagger + kishock headshot can be just as deadly by the HE as the HI with javelin/bw and phasic rounds. if the engineer can fully overload and strip the shields, even a weaker gun is enough to finish it off. individual skill would be deciding factor. if the players are on same level i think HI has the advantage if he cloaks and finds the engineer first. on darker maps like ghost hazard, giant hazard or even Rio the HI has huge advantage.

 

Imho caster vs caster and fighter vs fighter would be more interesting and more fair. like engineer, adept, sentinel against each others and vanguard vs infiltrator vs soldier

I'm sure the winner is the one with geth scanner, drill rounds 3 and thermal scope(so you can wall hax head shots) black widow (cos it has high damage and 3 shots,anything else will struggle to hit the 2 gates and kill shot).
Then you shoot them even if they can't see you.

That's why I rarely play the infiltrator. These single shot weapons where I can't rely upon volume of ammo to help correct my aim are a pain.

Becuase it's not even a fair battle. It is literally 2 vs 1.

HI trying to line a headshot. HE deploys trolldrone on her ass. Stunned HI swallows incinerate. Followed by hitscan un forked overload.

Fire explosion.. dead HI.

In my book this constant stun lock , mean HE would even stub stagger and then fireroasted even before HA could deploy one BE.

Are we assuming that both players are competent with their chosen character? Because if so then it's very unfair to put an infiltrator up against anyone else. One quick cloaked headshot and the match is over.

If ME3 had pvp they probably wouldn't let powers that instantly strip shields/stagger enemies (etc.) just by "hovering over the target's general area and pressing a button" get past the design stage

Too many variables as would Mordin say in this vanilla war.

HE has most other advantages, but there are things that give the HI the advantage:

 

- Cloak

- High-powered sniper rifle

- Wall hack piercing

- Phasic rounds

- Either thermal scope, or just general awareness

 

A good jav body shot with phasic through a wall would win, unless health gate is still a thing, then 2-3 rounds of black widow would be preferred.

 

HI's only chance is to play like an infiltrator and catch the engineer unaware. Otherwise, the HI would be pretty boned.
