I liked the solo parts of some of the dlc(arrival citadel). I'd kind ofike it if the main game included this some. It seems weird that you are always flanked by two body guards like you are a celebrity or something. I get it on missions but when just going to buy groceries at the citadel it seems off.

Now I'd like some good character development arcs from this. Based on a recent article on a tv show from my youth I'd love a arc like season 3 episode one of Magnum PI. "Did you see the sunrise". Cause you know Mac liked sunrises.

Are there any story arcs from other media you would like to see a spin of in MEA?

I agree, I quite liked the solo missions as well. Too bad those parts in Arrival and Citadel were pretty short. I'm not saying you should play half of the game with only the pc, but mixing up the gameplay a bit more is never a bad thing.

I'm not sure if those parts add more to the character development though. Do you mean you get to know more about the pc if he/she is alone? Or you actually play a mission where you're not playing as the pc but as another character (in which case you'll learn more about that character)?

Things have a less personal feel and the story arcs I find logical to have when Ina team are different.

You don't go visit your childhood friend who is ending up on the wrong side of the law with 2 random people. Basically arcs personal to the protagonist seem more appropriate to do solo in many cases.

Whether it's personal revenge, helping a friend, visiting a sick relative it seems weird to bring 2 back up goons.

Ah autocorrupt how I've missed you.

I didn't like the solo mission in Arrival. It also didn't make much sense from a story perspective, and I think Bioware would have been better off making Arrival the Virmire Survivor's DLC, similar to how LotSB had a strong focus on Liara.

That being said I did like the solo section of the Citadel DLC. That was much better executed than Arrival.

I did not like the solo portions of either mission. Solo stuff in the MEU, so far, has favored twitch-shooter players rather than power users. You lose 2/3 of your cool downs by being solo, and in the case of the Citadel DLC BW decided they would shove their middle finger right in the face of power based players by cratering our cool downs. Unless my all my cool downs drop to .25 seconds during solo sections, I don't want to see them.

I'm not really keen on solo bits. I mean, they can make sense briefly, and I don't generally mind Shepard being alone on the Citadel in ME3. But I dislike the tendency to isolate the protagonist for the big dramatic bits, and I wouldn't want too much of an extended sole gameplay section.

You didn't change at all in me2 but yes in me3 they handed you a stupid heavy pistol and if you were used to running at +200% it was a hit. Not sure I'd call it cratering but it was a hit.

This kind of story can be executed with a team but it feels more personal and solo to me. It's also a fairly decent renegade-practical/renegade-revenge/paragon choice moment.

I liked the solo part but would've gladly traded it for a team-up with Ashley/Kaidan. Waking up thanks to them instead of "not being drugged enough"/being the Amazing Shepard would have made much more sense.

Missed chance.

I solo all the time in Gold matches with PUGs :P

It would be great to have more solo parts to the game, not half the game but around 3-4 hours in total would be really interesting to change things.

Yeah just a few hours is all I want. It should be enough that you are out of your comfort zone in play style but not enough to get used to it.

I'd love some solo sections.

I'd also like to see sections where the squad doesn't contain the main character - either someone else solo (like the prison break in KotOR), or a full squad of three (like in KotOR2).

This would further discourage the wildly asymmetrical mechanics we see in the ME trilogy.

I didn't particulary cared for the solo parts in Arrival or the DLC as a whole for that matter  :(

But I absolutely loved them in Citadel DLC. The sudden change was appreciated and it made sense in context. I think it'd be nice if you could split your party like in Citadel DLC but you actually control them, for some uber hard mission. Not the whole games, of course.
