But Price is the same isnt it ?
Besides isnt DLC just a new name for Expac? I think the only reason they didnt name it DLC is beacause they claimed all DLC's will be free, and they didnt want any1 picking on words.
Naw, most publishers simply don't want to call them xpacks because they don't release enough stuff to warrant that name. Awakening for DA:O was an xpack, for example.
Another example for this is Diablo 3 and reaper of souls. It's not a DLC, it's an xpack.

I have the original and all DLC on PS4, but I will get this GOTY edition too.
Like someone else said earlier, it shows Bioware support for one of my favourite games, and it is nice to have a physical copy of the DLC just in case, cbf downloading it again, lol.
Amazing game!

I wouldn't compare the 2 games, their focus is different and so is their tone. W3 is better in some aspects and DA:I is better in others. I don't have a "camp" so to speak as I've enjoyed both tremendously.

Possibly dumb questioin, but does the extra content/DLC come on the disk? I had assumed so, but I thought I read that the GOTY edition will just come with download codes.
I would buy this if all the content is on-disk, as I'd love to just have a copy of it all for when the world ends and I'm playing in my fallout shelter with power from the generators, but if it's just the same disc with all the download codes I don't see the point...
So does anyone know?

Don't even... For all the good Witcher 3 did better, they don't beat DAI in character writing. Now onto DAI. I'm really hoping new ppl who were unsure to pick this up, the dlcs really add more meat to the game.
um its called evolving a character and making her stronger so shut up Triss is amazing. She don't need to be Yen she's her own fireball throwing sorceress.

I definitely doubt the ever would.
Always the same... You support the game when it gets out, and then you get no love when it goes GOTY. You can buy the GOTY (which includes the game you already own) for 40€, or the DLCs for 45€.
Also, I have been so frustrated these past years because in my country (France) we are denied the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins. We can buy all the DLCs separately - which never have a discount - but we cannot acquire the Ultimate Edition. Multiple times have I seen the UE on sale for 5€, but I was unable to acquire it as it is region restricted (on both Steam and Origin).
And now that I mentioned Origin, I'm so tempted to mention how this 1€=1$ annoys me. Especially considering they force European customers to buy their game in Switzerland (where VAT is 8%), however the country is outside of the Euro Zone, which means banks ask for a fee, so customers have to pay for THEIR decision to have their store in this country.

Its the 30th bottle of the 'bottles of Thedas'.
I wish I could justify buying this. I have the game. Have all the DLC, minus the Spoils pack, but it is so tempting to pick it up to show BioWare some love. And to have physical copies of all the DLC just in case...
Oooh reverse slam.

Oh wow. Thanks. I'll be sure to run right out and buy that. Oh wait. No. Thanks for not supporting past-gen consoles.

I didn't catch it when skimming through the announcement - if I already own the game, is there an option to simply "upgrade" my current game for a certain fee or do I have to pay full price for the GOTY and essentially buy it again?

Lets give an example. You go into Redcliffe and all you see is a bunch of npcs all in groups that stick in place, talking about the war, with the rare NPC moving. There's no feeling that they are suffering or anything. Now lets look at some village near a battlefield in TW3. Houses are in shambles, villagers are crying or in pain, all houses have little furniture and osme don't even have beds (peopel sleepign on the ground) you have people who are not static and have schedules.
That's just a village. Every place has life in it in TW3 which is not the case in DAI outside looking pretty.
I guess this is the reason I found DAI not so touching as DAO, not to mention ME3... When playing ME3 I can felt the pressure of Reapers, the shadow they cast on people from every races. But as for DAI, honestly I just didn't get the feeling that the world is ending and we as the only hope had to act. I enjoy the game, especially the company of inner circle... but it feels more like hanging around with friends.

Are you sure? I just watched a let's play of Trespasser the other day and it has some of the most cringe-worthy dialogue I have ever witnessed in an RPG, everything was so staged my teeth began to hurt.Don't even... For all the good Witcher 3 did better, they don't beat DAI in character writing.
The Witcher 3 did an excellent job of rounding off the whole story and tying up loose ends, something Bioware even failed to do in their final piece of DLC and not even tried to in the main game.
@topic: Does anyone know if all the promotion stuff is also included in this edition?

Yeah because wer nto about the tone or who like which sotry or characters more its about the quiality, the lowering quiality of BW products that also comes with higher price aparently, or maybe it was DUENOVO that so expensive, in that caseforgive my arrogance.
I mean seriously cant you see that? Immersion in ME3 was so much better than in DAI, Combat was totaly broken in DAI because of no Tacitcs, We get Candylike Pockemon colours that are ofcourse more popular, but also hurt the heads of the actual fans. Instead of interesting side content we get big areas full of mobs to kill and stupid objects to click, with not much or none fabular background.
I dont understand what is this 70 euro expected for? Not to mention the hillarious price of DLC that bring the worst parts of the game.

Buy the DLCs. The GOTY is just the paid DLCs packed with the main game.

Though if you're prepared to be patient, it may well eventually be cheaper to get the GOTY edition than to buy the DLC separately, even if you already own the base game.
Buying the ultimate edition of DA:O on Steam sale is by far the cheapest way to get the DA:O DLC, even if you've already got both the base game and Awakening.

I wouldn't necessarily count on the DLC being actually present on the disk. Could just be redeemable codes.
