For me, the DA universe. But that's subjective to my opinion. I enjoyed how DAI expanded on the lore, history, and how it handled politics and religion.

Combat definitely goes to the Witcher 3 though. As does side content and world design. Graphics, well the environments in DAI are more varied and beautiful but the character models in DAI are cartoony looking. Not to mention the horrid facial hair. So, Witcher 3 in graphics too.

Bonus - Triss and Yenn > Any companion in DAI

Yen maybe, but Triss? Hell no. She is horribly written in the games and extremely inconsistent

She jumps from a Yen wannabe in the first game, to damsel in distress in TW2 to mage leader on TW3. Plus the games always try to make her cute and fuzzy, ignoring all the bad **** she did in the books and even side stepping the stunt she pulled in the first two games and don't get me started on how they changed her appearance from the book so she could appeal to the male gamer.

Aveline is not a character of DAI. DA2 characters were way less cartoonish than those ones in DAI.

I'm not sure about DAI's Isabella since I'm not interested in the MP's version of the game but it wouldn't surprise me if the got a cartoonish version of her as well for DAI.

My bad missed the I but I don't think they look cartoonish at all. Definitely not Cassandra lol

um its called evolving a character and making her stronger so shut up Triss is amazing. She don't need to be Yen she's her own fireball throwing sorceress.

Triss in the first game was a Yen wannabe. That is a fact and no that's not character evolving, that's inconsistent writing when every game is a 180 o her past role(plus I would question how becoming a damsel in distress is character evolving in the first place)

There's also a fact that the stunt she pulled on Geralt is largely ignored and at worst, Yen is only mad at Geralt. Not once did Yen get on Triss's case. The ongoing trope of Triss being an innocent little mage who is cute and fuzzy who's entire appereance was changed for a idiotic reason.

Just popped in to say that this is fantastic news -- I loved DA:I but decided that the DLC was just too expensive to buy. This means that I'll eventually be able to pick up the rest of the story, and that people checking it out for the first time will get the whole sweep of what went on. Props to whomever made this decision!

Now, how about one of those for Mass Effect 3? :D

Bioware seems to be against any ME GOTY editions for some reason. Even the trilogy edition didn't have the dlc.

Truth. The devs said that the first game was a "love letter to the books". Triss is Yen, Alvin is Ciri and Shani is Triss. If you read the books like I have, this becomes obvious.

Excellent news. Bought the game on last gen hardware, should be a nice treat to run through it again with pretty graphics and extra Solas shenanigans.

Your a idiotic reason I wont entertain this on a DA forum Triss is a amazing character and Yen didn't get on her because she knows she get her ads whooped.

Yes lets buy it again, even though theydont put anything into it. just for the sake of beeing loosers XD

Personaly I flet bad when i paid for this game 40 euro in the first place. I fel teven more awfull when I wanst paid for playing JOH and Descten.

Graphic and levledisgn is probably a taste thing, i just get a hedache from all the Candy design in DAi.

But then seriously u have to see that Tetris is still better than DAI i mean combat in DAI is either a pain or a joke without tactis and tactic view.

The Witcher  3 bored me nearly to tears after the first two games were really, really good to me. They put far too much into a quest that should have been "This (insert creature or person's name/gender) needs to die, go kill them." I seriously wanted to end just about everyone in the entire game by the time I got passed the Swamp and meeting the Hags. There are no people in the Geralt's world, just monsters wearing human skin. There are characters that are meant to be redeemable and some actually are sincere and may shed their 'evil ways' eventually but more of them are faking it to try to get a chance at backstabbing you a second time.

I've never run into a third in a series that made me hate the time I put into a series more than TW3 and that includes DA:I and ME3 so that should tell ya something.

I came here to read people's reaction/expectation/discussion about GOTY edition, didn't expect to see the thread turned into TW3 vs DAI comparison.

I bet when W3 DLC is released, people will start another fight on trespassser vs hearts of stone comparison. <_<

Heart of Stone is a expac, so comparing a expac to a dlc is pretty silly from the get go.

I haven't played the Witcher and don't intend to, but having characters superior to what I saw in DA:I is not a high bar at all.

Clowns like Sera and Vivienne are pretty low down on the ladder of writing quality.

That's what people usually do. Silly comparisons which don't even make sense on the start.

Mind you the difference between 'expansion' and 'DLC' is largely semantical especially in the context of Heart of Stone.

Considering that the heart of stone adds like 50h of gameplay, compared to the few Trespasser added, the comparison seems apt.

But it is all about the GOTY ZenghAN we simply deont belive DAI deserves it xD Its one thing to be second best game but its another to be a second best game on purpouse ;/ and mainly beacuse there is no 3rd place.

I also think the game is too loong, but at least its filled with content rather than monsters to kill, DAI feels like grinding in MMO because you cant afford to buy ingame credits, except you actualy need taht to advance in game ;/

Sadly there are no ppl in our world either, its jus tu might be just to lucky to understand that.

I think it is during the final battle when Corypheus lifts the Temple of Sacred Ashes in the air to fight you, and that dragon may be an early version of the dragon that joins you if you drink from the well. Maybe they planned on that dragon surviving at one point and after killing Corypheus but before you seal the Breach(since it seems originally the Breach would be there the entire game) it does that scene as its victory dance. Or it was just trailer magic.

We needed a mid-game breach seal to have a reason for In Your Heart Shall Burn. That was a late game re-write. And one of the best moments in it.

As someone who purchased DAI at launch and the 1st 2 DLCs on Xbox 360, I won't be purchasing DAI GOTY once I eventually get an Xbox One or PS4.  I am very disappointed that EA made the decision not to release the last 2 DLCs for last-gen systems.  I could understand choosing not to release on last-gen systems if the last two DLCs made drastic changes to the game's core engine that the hardware would simply not support, but that does not appear to be the case.

Both TW3 expacs are said to bet he size of TW2. That's an expac.

Again DAI was released and was the GOTY for 2014,  Witcher is a game that is released in 2015 and will likely pick up at least a few GOTY awards.

DAI did deserve GOTY last year as it was one of the few games in 2014 that where good.

But Price is the same isnt it ?

Besides isnt DLC just a new name for Expac? I think the only reason they didnt name it DLC is beacause they claimed all DLC's will be free, and they didnt want any1 picking on words.

Size of content is semantics.  Hearts of Stone is more DLC anyways, its released purely through downloads so 'downloadable' content.  There is very little difference between an expansion and a minor DLC in this day and age, so one can easily use the two interchangably and still be right.
