Tempest has more defenses than Assassin. Assassin relies on stealth. Tempest has flask of lightning and flask of Frost for defense. Assassin tends to be the highest single hit damage dealer not including focus talents. 

 

Sera has a machine gun approach with flash of fire.

 

Mark of Death is a real great add to the whole party. Sera would play well with dual daggers and Cole may actually take less damage as an assassin archer.

Flank Attack + Skirmisher
Twin Fangs + Ripping Fangs
Death Blow + Thrill of Victory
Hidden Blades + Overkill
Stealth + Clinging Shadow
Mark of Death + Mark of Doom
Shadow Strike + Quick Blade
Mark of the Rift

Dont forget the passives Ambush, Looked Like It Hurt, Sneak Attack, all of them in the Assassin tree, Bloodied Prey and Pincushion.
You need only 50% of crit chance because of Sneak Attack, everything else should go to Dexterity, Crit dmg and Flanking dmg.
Use 2 Uidden Blade masterwork and one Guard on hit.
Sigil of the Dee Stalker is a must have.
Your Assassin will destroy any kind of enemy who stand in his/her way.

I'd Actually recommend this. You can use it with a bow or a Dagger (Daggers are nicer because of the two Masterwork slots and the higher opportunity to gather up Critical Chance). You can use it from any range, and if you're running a Crit heavy party, you almost never run out of abilities to spam. Glad I came on here -- just for this build, because I would never used it before.
