Howdy folks,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section; I'm new to the forums and don't quite know where I should be.

Okay, I need some help sorting a potential story out. I've looked online and not quite found the answers I've required, so I'm now hoping my fellow Dragon Age fans will be able to help. Essentially I'm going to outline the sections I'm unsure of. Please flag up any issues/areas that do not match Dragon Age lore.

A mage and another character (class is largely irrelevent) are hunting another mage (call them X and Y respectively). X and Y fight and defeat the mage, only to then discover he is possesed by a demon. Said demon sends X and Y into the Fade. While Y hunts the demon, X (the good mage) is enticed by another demon in the Fade. Y kills the first demon, sending him back to reality. When he approaches X, something doesn't feel right. Like Connor in DAO, control of X is a battle between X and the demon. Realizing he has become an abomination, X begs Y to kill him. Y obliges (unwillingly), X is killed and the second demon returns to the Fade.

My main questions:

X and Y being sent to the Fade by the demon (either Desire or Pride). Does this work?

X being possessed in the Fade, and then returning to reality realizing they are an abomination. Again, does this work?

Providing the first issue is fine, the second issue is adjustable. Really, I just need X to somehow die, whether he doesn't awaken from the Fade or is simply killed afterwards because of demon possession (or something else).

If my current setup doesn't work, is there any suggestions for how X can die?

Uh, I think that's it. I hope I've explained it well enough.

Thanks for reading. Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Alex

Well you're send into the fade by a powerful demon during the Circle quest in DAO , so yeah it works.

And then yes mages can become possessed in the fade (cf Harrowing) , now would the mage realise he is possessed and warn people?

I'm not sure but why not , just say your mage has a strong will and he's able to shout it at his friend before being turned full abomination.

Let's not forget DA2 Anders, either.  As he himself says when asked if he's an abomination, "You're wrong.  But not far wrong."

Thanks guys.

I've adjusted my hypothetical situation somewhat, but I think it should still work. I'm assuming Templars can be sent into the Fade by a demon?

Yes I believe templars can be sent into the fade Alistair was/is a templar and can be sent into the fade in origins I suppose though there could be the argument that he was never on lyrium so he doesn't count but all lyrium does is increase the power of a templar so yes I would say templars can be sent into the fade

Yes, a Templar can be sent into the Fade. Even if you discount Alistair and the Warden (if they have Templar specialization), you find other Templars in the Fade during your escape. From what I can tell, they are others, captured by the demon but never managed to escape their dreams.
