I haven't seen such catty walking since Isabella!
Maybe that elfy hobo swagger was all the rage back in the ancient elven days!
That's why he really wants to destroy everything.

Now it makes perfect sense!
He's like those people who still dress like it's the 80s
Lol, yes dont you ? Though 95 percent of time theyr fine xD
Unless theyr actualy checked like Garrus and Liara in ME3 or Varric
lol so blackwall? and well I was a bit suspicious of Liara because of Benezia in my very first PT.
Thom Rainier fooled me 100% per cent.lol so blackwall? and well I was a bit suspicious of Liara because of Benezia in my very first PT.
If you make Cole more human, in banter:
Solas: I did not think to see it.
Cole: When did you see it before?
Solas: Who says I did?
My theory is that elves in general or at least the Evanuris in particular started out as spirits that pulled a Cole and became physical. If true this is a slip from Solas.
In banter with Varric he asks about the prevalence of tricksters in human and dwarven stories. Hilarious when you know who he is.
In banter with Dorian you get the impression that Dorian really annoys him. It could just be because Tevinter conquered Arlathan or elves are kept in slavery in the Imperium, but my take is that Solas resents Dorian because Dorian reminds him of himself. Dorian's deal, rebelling against his corrupt homeland while simultaneously loving and trying to save it is basically Solas's story from when he was younger. It's even more interesting if you believe the Old Gods are the Forgotten Ones, and that they shaped Tevinter to reflect Elvhenan (rule by mages, slaves, etc).
Solas is dropping "hints" all over the place. When you replay the game he has "GUILTY" written all over his bald head, you just couldn't see it clearly in the first playthrough.
He should be glad that his agents seem to be a lot more competent at subterfuge, otherwise he would've never been able get a single thing done.
Or maybe it's just "godly" arrogance and he just doesn't give a **** and/or likes to play with you. He IS Fen'Harel after all.
The trouble for us is trying to judge when a character knows more than they should because the writers are giving us clues about that character, or when it's just sloppy writing. I think I generally just assume the latter. So Solas' reveal did come as a bit of a surprise to me - particularly as I did actually like him as a character just as he was.
lol so blackwall? and well I was a bit suspicious of Liara because of Benezia in my very first PT.
O yeah I was supicious of everyone in ME 1 XD So much that in the end I just let it all go cause I coulnd figure out anything anyways ^^ Mostly Ashley though I cant remeber why.
And Black Wall ? Cmon so obvious from the begging
Not affected by calling, DID U SAY GREY WARDENS ARE WHAT?!?!?!I oh ok i though u were saying soemthing bad about them ^^, though obviously he has too many issues to be a spy or hes a damn good one. I actualy never learned what was his deal exactly because he left, ill find out now though, cause I play a noble hero whos going to save the world from evil and is totaly nice to everyone even blackwall xD
Wouldn't be funny if the chantry is based on misinformation about solas as well lol
I believe it is. And Mythal had a hand in said "misinformation".
Another thing I noticed yesterday is that the Elven objects you can activate are supposed to be wards to strenghten the Veil according to Solas. He keeps sayong "the area should be safer now" many times.
Yet... when you meet the Dalish mage at the first object, she clearly says they are used to MEASURE the Veil, not strenghten it. Solas is obviously using them to measure if he can tear the Veil apart completely. Sneaky elf...

That elf is a winner in my book. She unknowingly calls one of her gods a flat ear right to his face. Want to give her a high five for that! ![]()

Well... you can *punch* one of your gods in the face if you're Dalish. ![]()
And he tells you his plan at Skyhold.
"Imagine if spirits were not a rarity but a part of our natural world like... a fast-flowing river. Yes, it can drown careless children, but it can also carry a merchant's goods or grind a miller's flour. That is what the world could be if the Veil were not present. For better or worse."
ugh im going to have to make saves for every conversation with solas now

Let's not forget the legendary "Archdemons die when you stab them with a sword. It just needs to be, uh, a Grey Warden sword...?"
I noticed the way he walked up to the torch. You should pay attention to it. Especially if you look at how females walk in the cutscenes.
Boy just likes to strut, man!
It's funny to think that prior to the game's release, almost everyone was certain that Solas would be a stereotypical awkward nerd.
I think my favorite Solas "slip up" moment is when he's arguing with an Dalish inquisitor about how he should do more to help the Dalish and be "elfy." It's great because he outright reveals his plan. The argument gets pretty heated and Solas basically says "well unless you want me to destroy the veil and recreate the elvehen empire from memory there's nothing I can really do about that." (Not verbatim but that's pretty much exactly what he said). Of course, before getting to the epilogue and then playing Trespasser it's such a preposterous notion that the player would never take it seriously and assume he's being facetious.
^^ never got that since I usually had high approval with him....
and that elf you can get Solas to talk to in the Hinterlands... Who knows? Maybe they're one of Fen'harel's agents...

That's Mihris from the Masked Empire. But now that you mention it, given the fact that she traveled with Felassan and was subsequently clanless, she could easily have become an agent of Fen'Harel afterwards -- she seems pretty differential toward Solas if the inquisitor tells him to persuade her to hand over the artifact. Come to think of it, the exchange is in elvish -- does anyone have a translation of their short exchange?

Let's not forget the legendary "Archdemons die when you stab them with a sword. It just needs to be, uh, a Grey Warden sword...?"
I knew something was off about Blackwall the first playthrough, but I didn't take this specific line that way. It actually made sense to me that he would say it like that, as he sounded like he was trying not to spill the beans about Wardens being tainted and needing to die to kill an Archdemon. What he's saying is true, after all.
Well... you can *punch* one of your gods in the face if you're Dalish.
Yeah, but it's that one jerk-god nobody likes. The other Dalish would probably give you a medal for it or something. ![]()

Well to be fair, that is pretty much the actual explaination behind grey wardens and archdemons. ![]()
There were numerous times during my first playthrough when I wanted to ask him stuff but couldn't, plus opting for the romance meant I'd take the heart icon which tended to reveal even less; nothing like turning a girl's head to put her off the scent. So next time I would try for the option that quizzed him more thoroughly but of course you never get a straight answer but only a "Solas Disapproves". Nevertheless he does let things slip at times but when you do query it, his standard response is that he saw it in the Fade.
One of the ancient writings in the Temple of Mythal, that you can only read if you drink the Well, mentions about a person whose crime was high treason for taking on a form reserved for the gods. The sinner belonged to Dirthamen, the Keeper of Secrets. This being was meant to be judged by Elgar'nan. Then there is an image of a shifting, shadowy creature with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many. I wonder if this was referring to an early incarnation of Solas and the punishment was to serve Mythal. It would fit that someone later thought of as a rebel and trickster originally served Dirthamen.
Also I thought the warning given by the evanuris against the Dread Wolf was very appropriate to our experience of him. "Beware the forms of Fen'Harel. The Dread Wolf comes in humble guises, a wanderer who knows much of the People and their spirits. He will offer advice that seems fair, but turns slowly to poison."

Yeah, the secretiveness of the Wardens did indeed work in his favor.
But for some reason, that line really caught my attention even when I didn't know anything about the whole Thom Rainier thing (and imo it's a hilarious line in retrospect... Tbh, I find lying companions way too entertaining). The other one was when he said he was quietly recruiting in Ferelden during the Blight. Come to think of it, it was mostly because I had read the real Blackwall's letter in World of Thedas vol. 1, so I knew Blackwall was supposed to be in Orlais at the time.
