I know not a lot about this has been announced yet. Still I have to ask this pointless question, will this game only have human characters for the main character? 

 

Personally I would like to play as a Quarian with a Geth AI in his/her suit. In ME3 if you save both Quarians and the Geth, Tali talks about how some of the Quarians were allowing single Geth AI's to download into their suits to help their immune system. It would be really cool to play as a Quarian with an AI constantly speaking to you and making funny comments. Yeah I know it could rip off "Destiny" with the talking robot constantly around, but I still think it would be a funny idea with the writing of Bioware behind it.

Even if they allowed multiple races, there is utterly no way they would allow that combination.

First, it's a human protagonist.  That's been announced.

 

Second, between Destiny and Halo alone I've got plenty of talking-armor options out there.  If I get a HUD that chatters at me in ME then it should be across the board, not specific to one choice in character creation, but I'd rather not have one at all.  EDI was blabby enough.

As of now, it seems that unfortunately it is human-only. But Dragon Age: Inquisition was also originally human-only but later added race selection so there is a slim chance that we'll get the same thing for Mass Effect: Andromeda hopefully.

The only thing I want is actual light in the character creator.

 

None of this dark green/blue, shadowy, mess that makes it impossible to tell how your character is going to look in game.

 

Give it a nice background, and a bright and diffuse lighting source that allows you to actually see the face you are making

I can see ME:A's CC now. Dimly lit by starlight with a purple nebula in the background.

Yes ... and allow us to alter the way our character looks during the main game. Don't make us wait months for a Black Emporium-style add-on. 

 

Surely BioWare know by now how much we value this feature.

I'd love to be able to play as an asari, turian, krogan, salarian or quarian, but if BioWare are restricting us to humans again so that they can tell a deeper and more intricate tale about mankind's place in the galaxy, I can cope.

I hope CC is similar as DAI's, but hair options could be better.

What about a CC for your companions? Probably not the voice but perhaps the tone, choosing his/her face, skin color... Perhaps even the body type.

 

In fact, what would be interesting at the CC would be the Base colors : To be able to choose the color you will see as the main color of ship, furniture, armor of the crew...

If I'm about to play human, let me make it "special" - I don't like when companions look all special and your character like NPC. I want bald, pale asian girl with tattoos and piercing. Also, Cassandra-level cheekbones. : |
