Bioware should just use the shepard trilogy to develop MEA. The Witcher games are overrated by an overzealous fanatical fanbase.
Pot meet kettle.
Lol at your signature, he fought a shapeshifting dragon does that count?

You mean the same trilogy that got shred to pieces and critcized by BW overzealous fanatical fanbase? LMAO
Definitely does
no, it definitely doesn't. The snowball fight/drinking choice is but one checkpoint out of 5-6 that determine the fate of a single character.
My favorite choice and consequence they did differently than Bioware was the romances. Try to play Geralt as the typical Bioware protagonist and prepare to get wrecked. Ahhhh the forums were fun when people got to that little scene.
Its just common sense really to not try to have a romance with two women who knows each other at the same time, I like how doing that turns out with both of them dumping Geralt rather than having to pick one in a dialogue confrontation.

ME has a lot of wasted potential, Bioware should look at The Witcher games for technical things.
TW2 and 3 > ME2 and 3
Mass Effect is my favorite videogame series alongside Halo. I can admit when someone makes a better game than my favorite games.
Agreed. Mass Effect is my favorite also. The Witcher 3 is close to a masterpiece imo. I would wait a very long time for Andromeda's release if Bioware would make the game close to that same level of excellence.
Biggest thing is to step it up in the side missions. Any dev can take that away from TW3. It'd be nice if they got rid of the morality system as well. There are some things that TW3 does poorly though, like hand holding and literally having almost too much content. Just make this game a love letter to fans of the original Mass Effect and I'll be happy.

I'm sorry, what? I haven't played any of The Witcher games, but my entire experience with speculative fiction suggests the exact opposite.
Just been playing Witcher 3 last few days yes, yes and yes the side quests are fun just passed the first village.
Mass Effect is the first game I pretty much did everything in every side quest in 1 scanned every planet and side quest in 2 and 3. But a lot of it lacked a story in the side quests 1 had some nice little stories though.

A mistake would be to assume that everyone here who thought TW3 was a much better game than DA:I is a fanatical fan of either the Witcher series, or CD Projekt Red. I doubt they're even a majority.
I think DA:I pales in comparison to TW3 in tone, atmosphere, open world exploration, the quality of writing in the side quests, and in interaction with NPCs that aren't part of the protagonist's inner circle. The only areas where I found them roughly equal were in the quality of the main quests, the protagonist's interaction with companions, and the soundtracks. I'd be much more likely to enjoy Andromeda if it was more similar to the Witcher 3 than Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Having said that, I also thought the first Witcher game was mostly terrible and paled in comparison to Dragon Age: Origins. While I found The Witcher 2 to be a better game than Dragon Age 2, I also think some aspects of TW2 were overrated by its fans. I'm no fanatical fan of any gaming company and I judge each game based solely on its own merits and my own level of enjoyment while playing it. I'm certainly not alone in that.
While there are some fanatical Witcher or CD Projekt Red fans who were going to sing TW3's praises and bash DA:I regardless of how either game turned out, there are at least an equal number of people who engage in the same sort of blind fanboying for Bioware or Dragon Age.
I do agree if any games are going to have a large influence on how Andromeda is developed it should be the Shepard trilogy, but that doesn't mean there aren't some things that the Witcher 3 did well that Bioware shouldn't be looking at. The quality of the side quests in TW3 in particular is one area I think Bioware would be wise to mimic. CD Projekt Red was more successful than Bioware in marrying a partially open world approach with a strong focus on story and characters, in large part because of the quality of the writing of many of the game's side quests.
The fighting system in TW3 wasn't my cup of tea. The side quests were fantastic, but the overall story became stale after a while. Furthermore, I don't do well with set protagonists as well as I do with created ones because I can never truly emotionally "invest" into the character when the characters' story has already been created from the get-go.

I doub't game ever can make something you want, all games protagonist are set, story written. In Witcher you play Geralt. In DA:I you play in Inquisitor. Inqusitor was most set protagonist in all games. And no mater what you do Inquisitor always wins story is done by Bioware. Hawke is better you can pick from 3 pre-set personality's. Warden was best you can be from saint to evil psycho and allot in between.

I agree that no RPG videogame will ever be as unconstrained as tabletop roleplaying, but some games facilitate it better than others. DAO is obviously a very rare game - don't even really need to go into it. But you're granted a good amount of leeway in at determining your background and character in DAI. Some people are just less willing than others to engage in the game "outside" of the game (ie, headcanoning), which is beneficial a lot of the time. Certainly much more freedom in that respect than you have in TW3.
Though I gotta say, I find that the Witcher becomes exponentially better if you simply ignore the existence of the books.
ME:A needs character facial expressions like this:
