I know I must be the dumbest person ever but I really cant get my head around crafting for the pc version.

 

Things I understand:

 

I know I need schematics. I know I need ingredients.

 

What I don't know is how to move stuff around from one box to another

 

For example for the quest The Right Armour

 

I had the schematic and the ingredients but I couldn't craft it. I was short of an item in box 1 but had an abundance in box 2. My daughter told me to MOVE the item required to box 1  (shes a genius) but I don't know how to. I just kept left clicking here and there until by fluke it worked??

 

Could one of you enlightened souls out there help this poor simpleton by explaining IN EXTREMELY SIMPLE TERMS how to craft properly for the pc version using the keyboard and mouse.

Note that you need to have enough ingredients of the correct type (metal, leather, cloth) for each slot.

Just to clarify, you know there is 3 types of crafting ingredients: Metal, Leather, and Cloth.

If you don't have enough of a specific type to craft a particular item, one box will show up as red.

The only thing you need to do is go to the BE and purchase more of whatever you need (the specific itme, i.e. nugskin) so you can craft the item

Screenshot? You can't have more than the required number in a slot, so I'm not sure what "abundance" means. You can have less, but it shows up as red as noted in a previous post. If it shows up red, you don't have enough of that ingredient in your inventory. It's not that you don't have enough just in that slot, you don't have enough period.

 

But what's strange is that all of the ingredients necessary for The Right Armour are available in the wooden boxes next to the entrance to the forge. You shouldn't have a shortage of the required ingredients, unless you sold some by accident. Unless ... you haven't looted the boxes yet?

 

Don't feel badly, everyone does dumb stuff on their first playthrough.

 

EDIT: Here's another thought. Are you clicking on the slot? By "slot" I mean the hexagon that has the texture of a material in it, leathery for leather, clothy for cloth, stoney for metal. You have to click on the slot to see the inventory of materials that can go in that slot. Then pick one that has enough. For example, if the slot requires 21 leather, click on the slot and pick something that has at least 21 items in it.
