Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a post on damage taken by falling.

First of all, is there a formula or something to calculate the numbers? does armor count? and do abilities such as livid and salty dog matter?

In my personal experience the only place where it actually matters something is the Fereldan Castle map and specifically, falling from the bridge in zone 1 and from ladders in general. So in the end it's not that big of a deal.

Still I don't like how falling damage is treated by 2 characters: the legionnaire and the duelist.

The description of Walking Fortress says:

"You may not be able to hold them off forever, but right now, nothing can touch you. You have complete immunity to damage for a short time."

It does not protect you from falling damage. it is something that always annoyed me. So Bioware made a mistake. You are not completely immune to damage when using WF. And it says "nothing can touch you", then why can the demon commander's fear effect work? but that's another story....

They should either fix WF or change the description: Bioware wrote a cheque the poor Lego can't cash.

(he is still a pretty tough character though.. the chuck norris of dragon age)

Same goes for the duelist: when she falls and is hurt no elusive is consumed and she takes damage....

I think both WF and elusive should change the way they treat falling damage, what do you think?

PS Don't know if matters but I'm on PS4.

I feel mages should take less or no damage from falling because of their magic.

Warriors should take more damage because of their heavy armor, especially the lego.

I was playing Keeper, put Barrier on myself and jumped down from that one balcony treasure room in Elven Ruins.

I got fall damage, despite my barrier being at 100%

Actually I am not entirely sure about the purpose of falling damage in MP.   In SP, you can fall can fall from high places and get hit for half your HP or more.   In MP, the most damage I have taken was jumping off the balcony in Zone 4 of Proving Ground as a level 1 with inquisition armor.   After upgrading the armor, I haven't seen much more damage than single digit.   I haven't tried jumping off the tower in FC zone 4 though....

I still frequently fall of the bridge in FC zone 1. Takes half my health I think

Yeah, I remember the first time I fell with the lego, I activated WF and just jumped for the treasure room, just to lose almost all my guard....

You also need to be careful in using leaping shot,

I should try jumping using the lego with and without challenge, just to see how much armor counts
