Hi I have been trying with much difficulty to get my mass effect 2 to play. It ALWAYS gets to the "Checking Release Date" and fails under every condition.

I have tested the EA server with the PING code they provide with perfect results. I have scrubbed my registery after installation of the program 3 times and I downloaded from the direct2drive.com website a new version. I also purchased a new one from EA's store with exactly the same result. I have unloaded my firewall and anti-virus protection (Norton 360) with the same result.

This is an Windows 7 x64 system with dual boot. I also installed it on the other boot which has no firewalls except Microsofts (which Mass Effect 2 is listed as enabled for internet communications) and no other programs with the same result.

I also talked with tech support and they can not help. They are refering me to someone with more information.

This system has been used to play Mass Effect 1 with no problems at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
