Why don't they include some Miracle of Sound songs? "Commander Shepard" was a big hit, made the guy famous, the fans loved it, the devs asked him several times to perform on stage at cons, and they included a number of references to the song in ME3 and its DLCs.

What do you think of the idea of letting independent or "amateur" composers compose some songs for games?

I think the fact that ME:A is going to be in a new galaxy with new characters has already "radically altered" the feel.

Stylistically, it's still Mass Effect in theory. It's not like they're doing a whole new IP, so they may as well just keep what they have.

Yoko Kanno. Why not go to Japan and pick her, she has done soundtracks for tons of animes and video games and does quite different styles, even brings artist all over the world to sing on her tracks. I think music similar to Ghost in the Shell's soundtrack would fit to ME as well, would bring bit more of mysterious and badass wibes and really make soundtrack pop out.

Sam Hulick. Out of all the composers who worked on ME soundtrack, I belive he was the one who was able to capture in his songs that unique sci-fi feel that defined ME1 and was sadly absent in the sequels.

Inon Zur should return to composing music to Dragon Age, as his work with Aubrey Ashburn's vocals in DAO and DA2 is vastly superior to what Trevor Morris did in Inquisition.

I like Inon Zur, but Trevor Morris did a great job with DA:I

It's probably going to be the same guys that did the original trilogy and that's excelent, those score were awesome, specially ME1.

If we're going bananas, someone like Steven Price would be dreamy. His soundtrack for Gravity is a masterpiece.

Mass effect 3 has great music, some of them are really wonderfull . But I prefer the artistic direction from ME and ME2 and the work of Sam Hulick and Jack Wall are exceptional, one of the best  OST from video game

Yes !! Vigil is Great !

But I have in mind other composer :

Olivier Deriviere : Remember me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVnnLXkPJpY

Solar Fields  : Mirror's Edge

Michael McCann : Deus ex Human Revolution

And more !! Austin Wintory, David Garcia Diaz, Marcin Przybylowicz and  Mikolai Stroinski ...

I think the series is in great hands with the composers they have and with Sam Hulick at the helm, and Bioware doesn't necessarily need to bring anyone new in.

If they did go with the celebrity composer route, similar to Trevor Morris with DA:I (whose work was fantastic by the way), my vote would probably be for Hans Zimmer. Yeah, I know.... he's kind of the Jennifer Hale or Troy Baker of film/video game composers. Who cares...the man knows how to write a memorable soundtrack for a Sci Fi film.

Interstellar's soundtrack was amazing.

Mountains

No Time For Caution

First Step / Main theme

...and so was Inception's.

Time

Dream is Collapsing

I like him when he's not doing Inception BAAA. And I found Interestellar's score kind of boring. Time is amazing.

Infected Mushroom.
Failing that, the guys who did ME2's Arrival soundtrack.

Jack Wall first and foremost.

The ME1 soundtrack underscored the sci-fi feeling perfectly! Absolutely love it to bits and it is way more impactful and memorable than the music from ME2 and ME3 (though the ME3 score gets points for at least wanted to get a bit closer to the ME1 synth style at times) which for the most part just feels like the same generic blockbuster music. I've heard so much Two Steps From Hell, etc. that all that kind of theatrical stuff just blends into one blob of music you hear at every corner. The music is good, but we're getting oversaturated by it in every other trailer, game, series and movie. It's simply nothing special anymore.

Though I do like the idea of Yoko Kanno that was tossed in here. I don't think I ever heard a track from her that I didn't love.

I'm now casting my vote for Harry Gregson-Williams. He's done a lot of scores and some pretty good collabs with other composers, and he can even pull off the electronic feel that existed in the previous scores. I dig his work for The Martian.

Sam Hulick....hands down the best composer for ME. I would love him and Jack Wall writing the entire soundtrack for the game. Since it's a new galaxy and start for this franchise we need all the elements possible to remind us is still a ME game. Music is crucial to achieve this as it provides the right feeling for the game.

The Arrival OST was created by Sascha Dikiciyan (https://soundcloud.c...onicmayhem/sets). I'd really like him to make a return in ME:Andromeda.

I would like Sam Hulick and Jack Wall to return as well.

The music in ME1-3 was really good and a strong part of the experience (the music alone brings up some emotions). Swapping everything about it out could ruin it for me as it wouldn't feel like a Mass Effect.

As for other artists:

Michael McCann would probably fit in as well.

or Celldweller...

Jack Wall, Sam Hulick and Jeremy Soule. I'd LOVE to hear what Jeremy Soule would come with for Andromeda, his OST for Knights of the old Republic was great (one of the few composers who actually composed original tracks for the Star Wars universe that didn't want to copy John Williams' work, while still maintaining a 'sci-fi space opera' feel to it, and succeeded). But my main pick would be Jack Wall, because ME2's OST was absolutely perfect.

I think it would be cool if you could somehow import your own favorite music to play at certain points or in certain places in the game, like in your cabin or perhaps in the Mako.

As for the score, ME1 is my preference, so Jack Wall.

If not Wall and Hulick(Vigil still makes me all sorts of happy) I would like something very different from what we hear in other games. I personally want a return to the 80's sci-fi tone and vibe of ME1 so I would love to see Lazerhawk do the score. If that would be a bridge too far, M83 could do an amazing score, as evidenced by Oblivion.
