True that we couldn't begin to comprehend all the genetic advancement in a year of 2168.

In the Citadel DLC, Wrex actually mentions why the 2 bags of ice.  He mutters,"Oh right, your species only has one."  I have not heard anyone mention this with any of the dialogue options in the forums and wonder whether this is dialogue that only happens on a completely random basis.  It is interesting, and it kinda makes sense that they would have multiple sex organs considering their species has a mass reproduction line.

I also have never seen and wonder if turians have tongues.  I'm guessing yes, because of the reverberation in their voices, but what would it look like, what color would it be, and how long would it be?  Humans evolved from apes, would turians have evolved from an ape-like mammal or more bird or serpent?  Theories anyone?

1. Krogan balls - they do call it their "quad" so that leads me to assume that Krogan males have 4 testicles.

2. Turian tongues - if you look closely in-game they do indeed have tongues, they're generally grayish-blue.

Well, femshep can romance Thane. And Drell's evolved from reptiles. Turians evolved from birds, as for the Garrus romance. So an interesting challenge in the lower departments, as far as reptiles or birds anatomies are concerned.

1. Why do all species typically have 2 eyes, 2 ears, one nose, one mouth, two hands, two feet?

2. Asari have absolutely no reason to have vaginas. Or maybe they do. Can't say. BroSheps would probably have to be content with embracing eternities night after night.

3. Quarians and Turians seem like long lost brethren or something.

4. Most aliens seem too 'human' to me. Apart from the Geth, I didn't see anyone else offering much of a difference in perspective. I guess since you have to market a story to a human audience, you have to make it relate-able somehow.

Well, in order:

1: So Bio only has to do animations for things that look like humans. Note that the really non-human species either don't need facial animations or are encased in suits.

2: Of course they need vaginas. How else would they give birth? Whether they care that males want to stick stuff in there...nah, that activity probably wouldn't be of any use to the asari, but if she's GGG she'll put up with it,

3:Huh? Besides amino acid compatibility, what else do they have in common?

4:Yep,you're right. ME was never about having really alien aliens.

Well Asari could have any developed any number of methods of delivering babies. It's not important. I like how in ME1 Liara makes an innocently worded retort about "young males of other species having an unhealthy obsession with my species". Her matter-of-fact way of saying that in her innocent tone makes me laugh. But it's true enough. Asari served as convenient sex bots for gamers looking for alien sex in their games.

As for Turian and Quarians, if you look at their legs and hands, there is a similarity. Also an offhand comment about the 'toughness' of Quarians right after one about the toughness of Turians from Grunt points to there being some sort of relation between the two species. I found it interesting.

The only Mass Effect anatomy I'm interested at this point is Kaidan's tbh.

Maybe Miranda too.. But mostly Kaidan.

Well, it isn't Tali sweat!

I curse the discovery that the little symbol means whether or not I've posted in a thread.

Because now, I see it and think, "I posted in that thread? Now I have to click it and find out what I said that I don't remember."

Well, they don't lay eggs. It's pretty much in the dark, how they actually reproduce. Years ago I saw someone saying, they have no needs for breasts. But as far as we know, the give birth to evolved infants. So they need to feed. The only difference being that "mother" as well as "father" could do the job.

Right. Unless asari breasts are there to serve some completely different purpose, they've got infants the same way humans do.

Aetheyta also talks about asari birth in quite human terms.

As for the why of them being like humans, i think LineHolder's spot on.
