For those of you not in the know, about a year or so a guy came up with a chart of space ships from various settings showing them all to scale; everything from Star Wars to Warhammer 40,000 to Independence Day and yes, Mass Effect.

Well, now it's almost finished, and since ME ships represent a fair enough chunk of the represented ships, I thought I'd share it here.

Hint: it's near the Crucible.

I remember seeing an older version of this, thanks for sharing. It really shows just how big the other ships are some of the 40k ones make the Sovereign class ships look tiny.

I'm not a fan of the franchises using really large ships. To me, it smacks of "Look how great my franchise is because I have the biggest and strongest ship!"

I thought the Reaper ships were an adequate compromise. Quite huge compared to a human, but altogether practical and not blindingly enormous. The Crucible was an unwieldy space station, so it being so large made sense.

Great, THANKS for this. :)

Is there a bigger version somewhere, please?

This is better but it's still hard to some of it, I wish the creator had made it a bit easier  to read maybe have a numbered key system.

It is amazing how many squid monster space ships are on that page. That seems to a theme I missed out on in sci-fi in general(outside ME)

They are still making this?

I am impressed.

It is also good to see the Mass Effect ships are not outlandishly huge, outside of the Crucible.

Damn. So far I've spotted three typos and one misidentified ship class. But I'd feel so nitpicky about reporting this even if I knew where to do it.

Even inside ME, look at the reapers (though they do make sense as Leviathan live underwater).

But, yeah, what's up with tentacles and space?

Space is an ocean.

I think I'm looking at the wrong thing. Is that the star whale in there?

It's a little ways to the right of the Crucible, but it's very hard to spot. If you pass the Geth Dreadnaught, you've gone too far.

Are there any unrepresented franchises they over looked?

Who was this list made for? The font is so tiny I can barely read anything.

I don't see space stations and those would really adjust people's perspectives in contrast to just these ships.

Let's just put a few more zeros behind it, it's much cooler then! :)

The initial chart ( http://blogs.scienti...hel-d6lfgdf.jpg) is much easier to read, but less accurate and complete.

You can total see how JJ Abrams ripped of the Babylon 5 Vorlon planet killer and made it the Romulan mining ship.

I haven't seen a single ship from any of the series in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, so that's one.

Yeah, though I can see why they excluded them. Imagine how large the image would have to be. For example the Ark from the Halo franchise is 127,530 kilometers, or 79,244 miles, across. To put in perspective, it is wider than Uranus and Neptune sitting side by side each other are.

Ah, the overcompensation chart.

Have to notice, Bioware kept their complexes under control (except Crucible perhaps) and ships in ME universe have quite reasonable size.

Space ships are life the Dragon's of sci-fi, everyone just keeps making bigger and bigger one's in their story to look cool.
