Particularly in light of the upcoming GotY release - is there any news about a Trespasser patch?

I started a complete playthrough when the DLC dropped, and I haven't played Trespasser yet. I've mostly avoided spoilers, so I don't know how impactful it is, but I'm hoping at least one major story-breaking bug (Orlais leadership) will be fixed before I get to it.

Thanks for any info!

I suspect with 2-3 weeks from now.

Patches take quite a while, as you not only have to fix the issue and test it, you also have to regression test the entire game to make sure nothing else breaks. Then you have to merge all the different issues' fixes together and test the merge to make sure nothing new breaks and that each fix still fixes what it was meant to fix.

I think the Gaspard thing is only mentioned once by Teagan, which can be Esc skipped and still maintain dialogue consistency. So I suppose if it's just that, then it isn't a big deal.

However, I found a game breaking bug that makes Trespasser impossible to complete. Hopefully they patch these errors. I think they are working on a patch. They are aware of the Effortless Lunge bug crash, so they will likely fix these other things too.

Sorry, I won't be very helpful in regards info about patch, but
This "major story breaking" bug is affecting... like... one phrase in Trespasser, if I'm not mistaken.
But it has other issues which I hope soon will be fixed.  B)

Just finished trespasser, and I'm glad to say that I was able to get through it without any problems - if I had the "Orlais leadership" bug, the mention of the leader was so brief that I somehow didn't even register it.

I have to say that this was, I think, the best DLC in the entire Dragon Age series thus far. It gave a fascinating conclusion to the whole story, and set us up for the next game in the series; and the premise of the next dragon age looks very interesting indeed.. I think here Bioware showed that it still has what it takes to write a great story.

Still, a patch is needed - especially for the buggy new skill/spell upgrade options that trespasser brought into the game.

Ha, well, I'm glad to hear it's such a minor mention of a major story point... thanks for the reassurance there, for some reason, I had expected it would have more presence. I'll try not to worry about it *too* much. :D

The bugs are pretty annoying really

Followers not using abilities

Followers including the the Inquisitor  and enemies just freeze in place

Varric using an ability that I haven't even picked

I'm tot sure if enemy mages are bugged or just really overpowered because its close to impossible to dps their barriers down. One dispeller isn't even enough. Had to bring 3 dispellers just to actually kill them. Even worse when there's two

If you have the Trial that gives new abilities, you'll see a lot of mages called Spellbinders... they suck :(

Ran into the followers not using abilities when I started tresspasser. Closing the game and relaunching it fixed it, and I didn't see it again. Annoying, but fixable by relaunch.

Characters freezing in place affects the whole game, and is, I think, the most annoying bug, as it makes you have to keep an eye on everybody every battle, just so that if they freeze, you can switch to them and make them jump, which breaks the freeze.

I didn't have Varric with me, so didn't run into that one. Didn't notice anyone else using abilities I hadn't picked.

The mages are tough with very high barriers - but that wasn't a major annoyance for me, just made some battles more challenging.

What annoys me is the level 27 hard cap - you can't progress higher than that, and I'd reached level 27, with the DLCs, WAY before trespasser. It totally takes away from the game when your chars can't progress. The level cap should be removed, and a "soft cap" be allowed to be the only barrier, like it was supposed to be.

Gaspard as ruler is mentioned at least twice. The second time is near the very end.

Spoiler

For the hard cap, I keep an Amulet of power and then dupe it in Tresspasser to give myself more abilities and passives to show I've gotten stronger in 2 years

The Crestwood exploit still seems to work for me. There is still an extra item to pick up from that loot spot. Maybe it's because that save file was grandfathered in. Still, amulet dupe should work well to negate the hard cap. What I don't like is that you continue to get XP up until right before 28, which gives a false impression that 28 is the cap. Nope.

Yeah, that's lame.

I noticed the "Gaspard" bug myself, but it didn't seem to otherwise have much of an impact on my enjoyment other than 20 seconds of wondering what happened to Celene and Briala.

More important to me is the bug for male characters wearing the Calpernia armor.  It shrinks male bodies, removes all muscle mass, and leaves them with a big head on top.  It almost looks like a bobble head.  I'd love to keep wearing this armor but not while looking like this.  I hope this can be addressed.

I haven't noticed any other issues personally but I hope those are addressed for others.

I'm getting another infinite Eluvian bug when going through the one to "Look for the Viddasala" or whatever. And I tried my fix from last time and it's not working :(

All the Eluvian infinite loading screen bugs should be fixed by going windowed mode. You can even go fullscreen-borderless-windowed mode and looks the exact same as normal fullscreen (albiet at a minor performance hit).

Nothing I tried worked.

I did find another work-around for it. I just launched the game on my laptop, hopped through, saved the game, synced, then launched again on my desktop.

The Lunge & Slash CTD bug will hopefully be fixed before the GOTY Edition is released.

The patch will most likely be ready in time for the GOTY edition. So, a couple more weeks at most.

Agreed. I did manage to read them but only just, for some. Maybe 5 seconds more per slide - you shouldn't have to feel like you were under pressure to finish reading to get to know what happened.
