Ok so I never completed the friend of red jenny mission not realising it was the one where you recruit Sera to the inquisition and now the opportunity has passed
I am about 40 hours in, is she worth restarting the game for?
Can't recruit Sera

She's one of my favourite characters, so I would say yes, she's worth it. But it depends also on your character. If you are an archer, maybe you can recruit her in the next playthrough

Thanks. I am playing as a mage but I will probably wait till next playthrough. 40 hours is a lot of time to lose!

How is that a question?
Hurry along! Do whatever necessary to recruit the best character in the game!

In terms of archer ability, I like her skill set better than Varric's. It can also be a pain in the butt to get Bianca to the point where it's a pretty good weapon since you have to find all the bits and bobs for it. In terms of personality, I like Varric a lot better. Sera can be grating (I like her, but I can see how she can annoy the crap out of people). Some people respec Cole to archer because apparently assassin archer is a pretty good combo and you don't have to micromanage him that way. But I don't like to resepc people to something they are not. But do you need her? No.

If you leave Val Royeaux before meeting her, she becomes unavailable.

1) Opportunity Knocks, Looked Like it Hurt, Leaping Shot. Toss in Hails of Arrows for Bosses and pure profit all the time. Plus opportunity knocks helps the entire team's cool down. Tempest abilities are good, but they're not team play abilities which is what I look for in my NPCs.
2) Golden Nug solved that problem ![]()

I didn't recruit Cole and Sera in my second playthrough, because they didn't give a good impression on me to do. They're one of the two characters I am always iffy about if I should or shouldn't recruit. Going back just to get her is entirely on you. If you're 40 hours in, then it's not worth going back. It's a pain to gather things all over again. If only it were easy.

Sera is a extremely controversial character, it's hard to say whether you'll like her or not.
Jar of bees, though, is definitely worth restarting the game for.

Agreed.
If you enjoy dirty jokes that are politically incorrect and pranks and other such things that are considered "immature" you will like her. For me, she was a bundle of joy in what started out as a rather depressing game. She is flawed, and will bite your head off if you say or do something she doesn't agree with. Which is quite refreshing when just about every other companion agrees with you to your face then disapproves.

If this is your first game, the golden nug is not option. My assumption is that if someone is asking, that this is their first run through of the game. But then again we all know what they say about assumptions.

Personally, I don't think I would, but it's up to you. Some like her, some don't, but her character doesn't influence the story much. Jar of bees is great but combat's generally not that difficult so it's not essential. Put it this way: would you reload a Dragon Age: Origins if you missed recruiting Leliana or Sten? Not saying that she doesn't add something but personally, I don't like to reload. If my character didn't do something, I prefer to let that decision stand.

In regards to reloading to recruit Lels if I missed her in DAO, hells yeah. OP first time playing I take it, I'd say go back and get her, he/she is gonna miss out on content. Only he/she can decide if they like Sera or not, you have to play through with her first. Plus combat wise tempest is beastly.
