Apologies if this question has been answered before, couldn't find it here on the forum.

So yeah as the topic states, I intend on returning to DAI after a long absence and I haven't played any of the story DLCs, so I decided to start over and play the DLCs at some point in the game were the feel the most appropriate.

So any help on the matter would be appreciated :)

I think all of them make the most sense as postgame content.

I usually keep descent as a late game thing then JoH as post game. Of course trespassers post game.

Jaws: you need to be at least 20+. There is no level scaling. I'd say post end boss.

Decent: Has level scaling but I'd say play after jaws because of a certain ability you get in jaws.

Trespasser: After completing literally everything you plan to finish. You can't go back after you start it.

Yeah, I'd go in release order, post-main game, the first time. Experiment in later playthroughs.

Played them post Doom Upon. Makes more sense that way, and I could cut certain characters out so I didn't have to take everyone.

But if you want Solas in Jaws, then I would do Jaws after Emerald Graves (slaying the dragon and getting the Inquisitor's helm). And I would do Descent before Adamant, since Valta states that Orzammar tried to contact the Grey Wardens and could not get a hold of them.

Ignore the recommended levels. Especially if playing on Nightmare. Jaws is all about rooting and high DPS. And you'll level up in no time anyway. Descent is all about using the ability you pick up in Jaws (and high DPS).

Trespasser, the final DLC, takes place two years after the main game. I've been thinking that Descent and JoH would be things that the Inquisitor could do during those two years, so even though both of those are able to be played peri-game, I would just save them for post-game anyway.
