I might even guess that no human will step into the Andromeda Galaxy before the Remnants visitied the Milky Way. So with their technology we can build an Ark and go to Andromeda, but that's just me.

Perhaps a certain, evil, little, glowing smurf had "no time to explain" that the Remnant were the ones that sent the Crucible plans over to the Milky Way to help us primitives to get rid of the Reapers before they expanded the harvest to Andromeda?

Remnant's refers the all the little pieces of Reapers that you find.  After being blown the heck up 3 ways to sunday in ME3.

They are the remnant of the former Prothean Empire, who manage to escape from the Reapers in one of those super secret projects that not even Javiik heard about. Duh.

(I kinda hope I'm wrong here, tbh).

The Remnant may line up with a new species mentioned in the supposed leak of a Pax fan panel from 2013:

The second new race was described as "Ancient, Advanced, and Guardian". They had a similar color scheme to reapers and they looked like classic fantasy/sci-fi golems. Sleek rocky or metallic bodies with bright glowing lines flowing all over them. Some had fragmented pieces and shattered bits floating in place around them.

This part is more interesting to me, "you are drawn into a violent race to find the source of their forgotten technology that will determine the fate of humanity."

 

What's so important about "the source" that warrants a "violent race"? Why will it determine humanity's  fate versus the tech itself?
