Continuing the Inquisitor's story does not require them to be the primary protagonist of the game.Yeah he also said that "This is gonna be a good romance" about Solavellan, which suggests they plan to continue Inky's story in some way, there is no certainty. It's to early to say for sure what they're up to. It's kinda funny reading "there will be no return of the Inquisitor". I'll say, there is. This is now personal for the Inquisitor.
This is a poll about who people want for their DA4 protagonist.

We should start taking bets. I place 100 billion internet brownie points on the Inquisitor not returning as protagonist for DA4.

I thought that was obvious? For one thing, each DA have a different protagonist and then the Inquisitor will always be missing an arm (lol if s/hes an archer) and say's "my adventuring days may be over"

You're absolutely right. But, on the other hand, it is highly possible because of Inquisitor's involvement, i think.

Inquisitor also says, that she/he has a world to save. It's an open ending.

We changed their mind before. Alas, Hawke has been demoted to... whatever that is.

I'm super excited to see if they give us a duel protagonist. I'm all for a new protag too but the Inquisitor has to be involved in some way.

I doubt the devs will change their minds about a new protagonist for every major DA game, but maybe they will surprise us. They surprised use by adding in race options for Inquisition when they added the extra time for development. I would be so jazzed to role my Quizzy again mostly because of how exciting it would be to see what BioWare specifically does with a one armed protagonist. It could be really inspiring.
Give them a new arm, I imagine.

I think it's funny, Bioware probably were thinking "Ok, with such reason people won't be complaining that they can't continue as Inqy next game". Bam, there are more threads asking for Inqy than there were for Hawk.

They need to do better than that. As it has been said before, it could be seen as a way to reduce the Inquisitor to more of a blank state so that they do not start out super strong in the next game.

You need to deal with fact that roughly half the fans want the inquisitor back in a big way. Or at least half the people on this poll. I assume it's more or less reflective of the entire fanbase at this point. Bw can't ignore half their fanbase. That's exactly what happened with race selection. Look how that turned out.
BSN hardly constitutes half the fanbase, not by a long shot.

You know there were thousand ways to do it without arm cutting. They missed the mindset of their fanbase, telling that someone can't kill dozens of dragons without an arm is opressive and will cause an uproar we've yet to witness. Or not, since they've likely realised the situation they are in and there's still enough time to play things differently.

I still believe that the inquisitor will just make a cameo ala Hawke, but probably play a bigger role.

I would be okay with that as long as they were there to deal personally with Solas. The killing or redeeming part, maybe influencing the new protag one way or the other.

They can't use amputating an arm as the reason not to have us play the inquisitor again, that alone made them waaaay more interesting to me ![]()
