I do hope BW will pay more attention to visual consistency between outfits. Look at the picture and tell me if Shepard's arms make any sense.

It isn't just his arms. His whole body looks bulkier in the outfit on the right.

If they gave the PC Vega's body type it would probably be my first time not playing a male PC in ME.  I couldn't stand looking at Vega. He had muscles on his freaking neck. No thanks. ME3 Shep was just about right. Muscular without looking like he can't go a day without power lifting. He looked down right awesome in the Inferno armor.

Adding body types to the CC would be awesome though.

Yep, I'd love more body types but I'm sure it would require a lot of resources. I think we'd probably get less armor at the very least.

I hope that the female body type will be athletic though. I never really had a problem with her 'noodle arms', lol, as I have thin arms in real life. Her arms just didn't register with me as being unusual. I'm known to be 'freakishly' strong, though, so I just thought that's what was going on with Shep. :P

Really, that's your takeaway?  That the people using the term 'beefcake' (a term that has existed for 40+ years in the entertainment industry to describe large muscular men) want to eat those men?  That's a first for BSN, I have to say.......

this is BSN btw. Strangeness is normal

Hey, at least that's not as bad as Hawke's arms suddenly growing to like twice their usual size when wearing the Mage Champion outfit...  :P

Hawke's massive one arm is the only thing I hated about the Mage armor.

Yeah that looked better on femHawke.

Anytime I'm given the option, I tend to play a fatter character. Sometimes they'll have a mix of muscle and fat.

You know in real-life sport there are plenty of body types to certain athletes, depend on which sport they are made for.

I wouldn't object to the second body, but I'd particularly like to see that sort of build on a female character.

For male characters, I'd rather the slender bookish type.  But a beefy female would be excellent.

Beefcakes are fine people, don't get me wrong.

For RP'ing sake.... I want to design a rogue-ish dude. I don't see him having a tree trunk neck and a buzz cut.

Please don't force all of our males to be roid ragey. :)

... what is a Beefcake? :o :o :o :o

I don't imagine we'll get much in the way of body customization.

That being said I personally thought MaleShep was in a good happy medium place for this kind of thing. I'm not about to call him 'average' like one guy in the DAI forums did a while back; he's definitely very fit. But I also wouldn't call him huge, either. Not too huge for me to consider him a "roguish" type if you wanted to play him that way. He's not Vega.

But then, I'm a professional wrestling fan, so my standards may be skewed a bit.

I agree with this.

Shepard is athletic but by no means huge. Vega is huge. If you want to compare Shepard to an athlete, he is built more like a swimmer than a power lifter.

Those are three different natural body types, depending on metabolic rate, vs eating and exercise habits. Some people are naturally thin as hell and cannot easily gain mass, others in the middle could go both ways (which describes most of us), and some are naturally huge and cannot lose mass as easily as everyone else.

That's great if you want to create a muscleman who has a neck like a goose.

Muscleman? The male bodies in ME have never been buff. Just cut and fit like any soldier. I wish I could create a juicer or a badass dudebro and make him look like Brock Lesnar. He'd be a melee Manguard or Soldier.

SWTOR managed to do this. I managed to create the thinnest Sith and the fattest Trooper, so I don't see why they can't in ME. It's not important for me, but choice is always good I guess. Btw, I'd never call M!Shep beefy, not like james.

Well it is official, from what I want, from I see other people want....only way to shut down all of our demanding threads down is to give us this kind of CC...

With this level of CC, you could put "yourself" into the game, now that would be cool.

Cheers

I am all for customization. Star wars the old republic might not have that many options but it has many body types.

So what are you willing to give up?  I see threads getting started all the time about wanting this option or that option, but given the finite resources something would have to be cut to accommodate the request.  So would you sacrifice a party member, have fewer romance options, less playable missions, reduced interaction/dialogue with your companions?  I like the idea of having more options in the CC menu, but not at the expense of, well, pretty much anything else.

I thought Shepard (male Shep) anyway, was built as he was (happy medium) because the Alliance have a standard gene therapy programme on enlisting. Actually, if the Alliance does indeed have genetherapy (Wiki says Marsgene provides it) then it makes even more sense that body types would be similar across the board for the majority who sign up or get enlisted early?

Never tought about the Alliance in that way. That's Gattaca levels of f**k up.  :D

You sound as if Dude Shep was built like Arnold Schwarzenegger. He looked like the average soldier who kept in shape really.

True, though I could never play as 'self-insert' character because of two main reasons:

1) I can't create myself

2) And even if I actually manage to make 100% me it would be really weird for me to play(especially do romances lol)
