Mostly likely a piece of Mythal that was now bound with your Inquisitor (which is why they were glowing too).
Has the identity of the woman in the well of sorrows been revealed?

The Inq glows even if she doesn't drink.

Yeah, the whole, "Well of Sorrows" thing was confusing.
My Quizzy did not drink from The Well, yet some weird crap happens while standing in the pool. Next thing I see, Quizzy is glowing blue, then some weird ghost chick appears to slow Cory down.
The glowy blue bit has always bugged me and I still like answers on that.

That's supposedly a bug. Sometimes Varric glowed or another companion too.

Huh?
I've played this game numerous times. Each time my character never drank from The Well and each time she glowed blue. No other companion has ever glowed blue. Just my Inquisitor.

In his defense, it was a long run through the Arbor Wilds and his legs are shorter than the others. It'd be understandable if he got a little thirsty and took a sip when he thought no one was watching.
Well, and considering the huge splash the Well of Sorrows makes when someone drinks from it, it would not be odd if someone swallowed a bit when they got unexpectedly doused with it.

Yep! Someone reported it here in a thread about bugs.

LMAO! Poor Varric. First red lyrium and now Mythal's Will.
