Just to clarify as there seems to be bit of confusion going around...
Sending Feynriel to the Circle is alternative only to sending him to the Dalish. You'll still get his quest in the 2nd act. He only has 3 final fates: sending him to Tevinter, letting him be possessed or making him Tranquil.
As I recall, Circle rotue has an extra side quest in which apostates state Feynriel has been killed but this is never the case. You can complete Night Terrors after the side quest and Feynriel is somehow able to leave the Circle for Tevinter afterwards.
