We all have consumable imbalances of some kind. I never have enough Disruptor or Incendiary ammo, way too much Cryo and Warp. I have 40 Shotgun Amps but 255 Targeting VI's. Always low on Cyclonics and Power Amps, but never seem to be able to use the overstocks of Shield Power Cells and Power Efficiency Modules and Stabilization Modules.

So, let me set the collective wisdom/fantasy of BSN a simple challenge. Please share your favorite/recommended kit builds for equipping with:

Cryo Ammo + Targeting VI + Shield Power Cells

Tell me what gear bonus you'd pick as well, please.

Hopefully others will feel free to use this thread to ask for builds to use up their own overstocks, which might be radically different from mine.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, no matter how deranged :)

This is what I'd try first. You can substitute the Raider if you like, but otherwise you're doing it wrong.

Kishock BatSent

Kishock is so awesome that it can OSK every non-boss unit on Platinum even with cryo ammo. Given its HS multiplier, targeting VI is a good fit.

With shield recharge evos in Blade armor and fitness, SPC is a good choice on a batarian.

Really? No Valiant Infiltrators? Cryo, Targetting VI, and SPC all go well with Infiltrators, imho.

These 2 are a little outside the box, and to this point it's purely theorycrafting b/c I've never used either, but the GE and the HS I could see having some good luck with these particular consumables.

I might try these out myself  :P

Turian soldier with Locust :

http://kalence.drupa...53A57324!F9.AGG

Locust has a damage bonus to headshots, that is reinforced by targeting VI and Marksman. The tsol is also tanky (so he benefits well from shield power cells) and, with Concussive Shot, has a power with a big multiplier against frozen targets. But as you can guess, this build will not be great VS bosses.

The Valkyrie AR is an alternative for this build.

I've been using pistols and stable-firing ARs to go through some of my VI stash, OP.

Executioner, Paladin, GPR, CAR, and even the Locust seem to be swell recipients of my Targeting VIs.

Now I think I actually prefer the VI when using an Executioner, in fact.

For those with a lot of Power Amps and Warp Ammo just use a 6/6/6/?/?  Vanilla Human Adept. Singularity does a lot of damage just by itself and primes all-teh-things. Weapon/spec to fit your playstyle/weapon amps.

Saber Justicar

Just to use the stuff you posted marksmad. Targeting VI gets the most out of the headshot machine that is the Saber, you can take full advantage of the shield regen properties of the defensive Bubble, and Cryo Ammo because you asked for it. Also works well with Crusader, Lancer, less so with Typhoon unless you can reliably headshot.

Yeah, I meant to ask this. How are you not using Warp more often? 2nd best ammo in the game behind Disruptor.

HI with Kishock, volus adept with suppressor.

Grenade gear or Survivor loadout for HI, Responder loadout for VA.

The best build to get rid of all those consumables is Bronze difficulty.

Too much Warp Ammo?  I'd love to have your problem.  Just put it on any Biotic, and problem solved.

I should have read the responses before going to the bother of making an identical build.  Too much truth here not to quote it though. The best abuser of soft-cover RHA in the game.

I love the BatSent, but I have never went Moby Dick hunting with BatSent, but I played with a guy a while back who absolutely destroyed London with Kishock.

This is basically what I always do. I look at what consumables I have most of first, then look at the kits and weapons that could work with it.

At least for Gold. For Platinum it's when all my good stuff start taking a dent.

Some great responses here so far, thank you to all of you for taking the time to make constructive suggestions.

Clyde and Catastrophy, the advice to L2Asari was noted. It migth still happen  :)

Clearly the best plan when one has a question is to post it right before going to sleep ;)

Cryo - HE 66653 Scorpion. Lack of CM might be problem with this build. But cryo is what my engineer mostly gets.
Cryo - Human soldier with acolyte. Fun and effective. I run her 46664 and AM. You could spec out of AR.

Targeting VI? Huntress with Claymore or paladin or anyone with stasis/stagger.

Shield power cell: any infiltrator.

Explosive rounds should always be at 255 otherwise chances are your origin will crash mid game.

I tried this out tonight.  My private onhost test run was brilliant, but as soon as I pugged into an offhost game, it was one of the worst kits ever.  The game was Vancouver/Collectors/Gold, with 3 noobs (not newbs as they had over 2k N7) who would not use cover, ops packs, or medi-gel, and died over and over again every single wave in retarded locations.  I would Sub Net a Collector, aim dead center of their head from 20 feet away, AND MISS.  After soloing Wave 6 Devices, I didn't bother to get back up from the Scion who downed me 0.000013421 seconds after completing them.

I have one advice for people who don't use targetting VI's. It's the prothean particle rifle : deadly accurate and easy to aim at the head.

I have lost all hopes for cryo ammo but I feel that there are a many classes that benefit more from the shield power cells than a cyclonic

  • low shield classes : vorcha (mainly the hunter) and drell
  • High shield recharge-speed classes for lots of fun : batarians, defensive justicar and mostly the flamer-less geth soldier who recharges his shields in o,72 secs in platinum.

But anyway I'm a power amp IV guy

I have lost all hopes for cryo ammo

There are uses but they are niche.

1- Cryo Soldier.  Spam that Concussive Shot with the Freeze Evo.   It also gets the bonus from Chilled, so targets don't need to be frozen solid.

2- Any kit with Incinerate.  Same as Concussive Shot, you want to be capitalize on the Frozen/Chilled damage bonus.

Finding an effective balance though is where things get a little tricky.  You don't want a super heavy loadout, because the power that benefits from Cryo Ammo will not see much use, but likewise you don't want to go pure power focus and have sucky weapon damage, because then you are a gimp and doing it wrong.

Of course, for any of the kits that fit the criteria for effective Cryo Ammo usage, they could certainly perform equally well or better with a different ammo type.  The crux is that Cryo Ammo is not going to be "better", but in some cases, "comparable".  And there are other benefits as well.

- Armor Weakening that benefits everyone shooting the target

- Not interfering with other player's combos

- Unshielded/unarmored mooks can become immediately incapacitated, which means they are not shooting back/throwing grenades/dryhumping your face

- Bosses will walk slower

- Teammates will mistakenly assume that the frozen Abomination is not going to explode after all, then walk over it and get exploded
