I'm pretty noob at MP so right now the krogan laughter is funny. I imagine I'll get sick of it if I play long enough though.

But... Kroldier is vastly superior to kroguard in the fire department! Kroguard is meant to smash things!I hated how boring a melee kroguard was, used it like twice. Then I gave his awesomeness the awesomeness that is Carnage (One of my favourite abilities in the game), he is now much more enjoyable. I now make pretty fire explosions everywhere!
Seriously tho, krogan soldier is one of my favorite classes.

Yes, KroSol is a badarse FE Expert, but Biotic Charge detonations!

Also, I'm just a huge fan of Carnage (On my aforementioned FE KroSol, it does 2.2k damage vs armour in full gear), I just wish more characters got it. The way it arcs.... it's cooldown speed.... it's damage... it's fire-y-ness...

Nope. You'll find that when you've had a rough day and need cheering up, you'll grab a Krogan and go all melee on the enemies asses. And it will never stop making you grin ![]()

Good to know
. I don't get a lot of emotional response from my puggernaut melee.

Really? I see a lot of emotional response around here to melee Puggernauts. I've had a few myself actually.

OK, I'll say it....
1. Inability to dodge
2. Krogans (in general) are a bit boring to play.....ya ya, their melee is quite fun but I don't need 5 krogans to melee. Shaman is fun as he can vary attacks a bit. I have the sentinel specced for melee but the rest - meh. Too repetitive or cheesy. (I find the soldier OK because I found a use for Spitfire on him, but still).

Krogans make for interesting shotgun/melee hybrids.
My Krogan soldier uses the Claymore with the Omni-blade with phasic ammo (don't like fire cheese). With his fitness passives and shotgun omni blade, his heavy melee can kill most gold units with ease. Anything larger is compensated with shotgun amp, fire explosion, and inferno grenades. He's one of my more favorite units because he can utilize weapon damage while being supplemented by melee.

1 - completely agree, idk why there are any kits that can't dodge, other than maybe the Jugg.
2 - I agree, not in the sense that an individual krogan is boring to play, their lore makes them fun if nothing else, but in the "there's not a lot of variance from one krogan to the next" sense. Melee is melee, but outside the Shaman, you could basically play them all the same.

Krogan should have probably all had health regen, and there should have been a melee based power for most if not all of them. the soldier for instance could have had something like Charging Bull from DAI. "Krogan charging!" was practically a trademark Krogan move in ME1 and ME2 SP.

Personally I like that there are characters who can't dodge. I consider that the uniqueness of each race regarding mobility, level of health / shields, melee, etc, was a very good decision by Bioware. The absence of dodge also increases the level of finesse required when playing krogans, batarians, etc., even more when one want to focus on melee. I find that allowing a dodge for all characters would make them feel too identical. The more diversity, the better IMO.

Loufi is correct on all accounts. If Batarians and Krogans also got a dodge, could you imagine the crying foul and demanding a buff/nerf that would go on if a 3.5k Health+Shield With 40% DR got a dodge when a 1.7k Health+Shield no-DR character does? Seriously, things like Kro/BatSol would be nigh-immortal with a dodge. Then imagine if all Krogan got warlord health regen LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE, the game would be totally broken. Just thought I'd give some perspective on High-Shield vs Dodge-Capable classes.

The dodges themselves are different enough, it's not like they're even close to identical, so the fact that almost every character could have one would hardly make them identical imo. Fat Turian roll but no dodge? #Biovarplease

We'll agree to disagree. Batarians and krogans having a dodge to go along with their tech/blade armor/barriers is hardly going to be the most broken thing in this game.
Besides, Bat/Proguard are already immortal, so @ best you're just making them "more" immortal. Krolord doesn't need a dodge, I'll give you that.

I'm not a Krogan melee fan, myself. Too drawn out and clumsy. Plus it gets so tedious listening to some Krogan PUG 'rawr' his way past a Nemesis...whiffing over & over. Much prefer the Drell & Vorcha melee. Just more satisfying.
And Christ I hate rage mode.

The thing I don't like about Krogans is that PUGs seem to think that they are a freeride ticket and think that being a Krogan means not having to help with Objectives!
Yes and no. If it's a suicide drone across a wide open space or pain in the ass device and the Krogan has Leeroy Jenkins charged to the other side of the map to kick the phantom nest or distract a ravager I'm cool with it. If it's a hack that hasn't gone to ****, a short escort, or we've got a that glorious i-epeen on the team then get your fat ass back here.

Sadly this was me in my last pug as a Krogan. I was running around smashing things, when 2 of my team were down I missled the hell out of 4 bosses. Smashed some more then somehow through my krogan rage I heard good get back to the extraction zone...The geth juggernaut had carried both packages back while I was running around smashing stuff. I didn't even realize we were on an objective level until near the end. If I used the mic, I totally would have mocked him in my best krogan voice. Machines serve the krogan, take things where they belong, if machines fail we break them......
