I don't get it. How does putting a reegar on a character prove that the character is powerful? Every character in the game can wreck shop with reegar.

 

I like the Shaman but I can understand how he might be a dull adept to play (*). Unless you use barrier offensively or turn him into a melee adept (and yet another melee krogan), he is basically a tankier Human Adept with lesser synergy (plus SIngularity is super awesome). While high health, shields and stagger resistance are good, they don't matter as much in team games as they do in solos.

 

(*) I used to dislike the Shaman for a long while. Only when I started using barrier offensively and making it one of my primary attack modes, I started liking the character.

Offensive Barrier (for the Stagger and lulz of floating enemies off the map on Dagger), Warp specced with all the debuffs and a Piranha.

 

... most fun Adept on Platinum IMO - not that I Platinum much.

That's what I use too (offensive barrier with warp ammo Piranha). Enemeis floating off the map is hilarious, plus those aerial BEs from barrier + warp. It's definitely a fun adept.

It's all relative.  The reegar is absolutely OP, no question.  But for some characters, the reegar is more of a hindrance than a benefit when alternative weapons are considered.  For instance, most Drell (or other squishy classes) would be better served by using some other weapon, since they have low shields, and firing the reegar slows movement in both the firing and reload animations.  Not to mention it doesn't stagger reliably.

 

I mention the reegar for the shaman because it really allows his potential to shine.  He is tanky enough to stay in the fight and constantly deliver DPS with the reegar.  Not so with the other adepts.  He can also run faster than most other adepts, which allows him to get within reegar range faster.  Finally, he has warp, which allows one-clip boss killing when paired with incendiary, and shockwave, which provides the close quarters stagger the reegar lacks.  So that is why I think, of all the adepts, he is made most OP with the reegar.

Interesting. I can see that there might be better synergy with the reeger and the krogan shaman. I hate that gun personally. Not because it's op but because I suck at it. Maybe it's because I only have a level 1 or 2 but it doesn't seem to melt face as quickly as it does when. Others use i, and I run out of ammo far too quickly. I'll stick with my level 1 wraith.

I want to unlock this guy though. Adepts are my favorite class and I am starting to really like warp+shockwaves as I get better practice at aiming the slow moving wave of biotic happiness.

I can agree with you that he may be second worst in terms of his power synergy due to barrier's adverse affect on cooldowns.  But give that mother****** a reegar and it's game over.

True.  Given his shield boost and tac cloak, it probably would be pretty close.  But he's not as fast as the shaman and doesn't have the warp cheese.  That being said, he is likely most effective with the reegar (as is any volus, imo)

There's definitely a learning curve with dark lord aka reegar.  Tbh, I never used it until I started attempting solo speedruns. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of weapons that will net you the best times.  The reegar is one of them, and probably the most forgiving to use (aside from the venom - but I cannot stand using the venom, it's just a personal thing).

I'm curious the dot effect once you hit the armor of the atlas is that because the reeger is applying the effect dozens of times or would another gun be able to do that while a warp is on. Not having to stick around seems huge.

It's b/c the game views the Reegar as having "pellets" and each pellet lays down a layer of incendiary, so layer upon layer upon layer from a gun that shoots @ roughly FTFTL, in addition to the Warp effect, kills things quite quickly, esp on PC.

I all 6'd my Shaman, he's incredibly tanky and powerful. Uses a wraith, I can take him to platinum and score well.

Since I know we have about the same level of experience, I hope you unlock him soon. He's been my most successful adept so far. I don't even miss not being able to dodge anymore.  Don't know how much of this I can contribute to the Reegar, but it's nice to have a gun with decent punch you can just fire from the hip (I have a lvl 2). Use the cooldown between Warp and Shockwave to revive your Volus teammate  .

Thanks. RNG hated me this weekend. I just got character training from my 10 premium specter purchases. Oh and I unlocked the argus. I kind of like if even if it's a burst fire gun.

Then I see you've gone too far down that path, and you can't turn away just yet You're just like the other 84947842119 that I had to outscore 2:1 with a real shotgun to make them see that using a reegar is by far not the only way to be quick, it's merely the easiest one

Things I dislike about Krogans:

1)There are not more of them.

2)Krogans who do not headbutt.

3)Krogan solutions, which we shall call Kroganisms, are frowned upon in the work place. Who hasn't wished to running pimp slap a co worker or headbutt a troublesome computer.

Krolord bashes geth troopers in early rounds and baby krogan hides behind cover on upper LZ  hardly trying to kill anything, after wave 8 little to no Krolord hammer used

 

Nobody did objectives, 2 escorts around a middle Targets, everybody ignored the targets after I nuked the first to change targets.

I agree that platinum is silly.  But I need the creds (alt account), and I don't have a lot of time to mess around, esp. w/ kids in school and the winter swell starting to pick up.  20-minute low drama platinum games are very welcome here.  And tbh, i really enjoy using the reegar.  It's consistent, it doesn't care about lag, and you never have to aim it in (i hate aiming in - with a passion).  IMO it is retarded that certain weapons achieve a tighter shot-group just because the player aims the weapon in.  So gay.
