Makes me glad I'm a woman who has been a gamer all my life (since the 80's) and could not give a damn about which sex plays games the most. I play because I love games, not because I want to prove something. Sometimes YouTube is a place to just gain attention and it does irk me with some vids, other times I enjoy learning new things, but I think females should play because they love it, not because they must prove anything. I know many here are like me, but there are so many girl gamer sites that turn my stomach.

Nice. Another veteran. No woman here, but I also recall the 80s in gaming. Thankfully, I think we can assume that most people actually play for their own enjoyment - I mean, what are games for if not that? - and see nothing wrong in not being political about it. Too bad the others tend to be loud.

I can't really say being veteran myself, since I was born during 90s, but I have been playing games since age 6 or even earlier than that.. and it sure isn't for anyone's attention ^^;

 

I think some of this "male majority" should get over themselves and realize that they aren't so much majority as they assume.. and that's it's okay for other people to show that they like games as well without being called attention whores ^^;

Oh yes I love games. Grew up with the NES and own every system since then right up to the later PS ones. I'm 32 and will never tire of a good game.

 

Yeah we play because we love it, but some of those sites leave the impression that women just want attention. Wearing skimpy outfits with makeup and playing games. Seriously we don't do that. We sit in our comfy clothes, no makeup or brushed hair and just have fun!

That phenomenon doesn't surprise me. There isn't an area of human life which is free from mating rituals. Why should women be different from men in that? Personally, I'm rather relieved to be free from that rat race, but it's to be expected that many aren't - and let it rule every aspect of their lives.

 

You must've started really young btw.. When I was 6, video games didn't exist and I watched people walk on the moon for the first time in blurry pictures on a black and white TV screen.

most of the people who play this game are straight male cis scum (amirite)

Out of those males, very few of them stream or video record because they mostly play for their own playthrough and personal enjoyment for their own self insert. 

Few of DAI players are women, but most of these women are often always giant attention whores and must always be heard in a male majority community. 

Then there are also many many groups of unaffiliated tropes of people that play whatever for various reasons, and they too are much vocal than the "cis straight male scum" crowd

The vast majority of inquisitors are heterosexual human male, the minority who play others are simply loud and vocal.

I really don't know what this is supposed to accomplish other than fishing for reactions. If you want to argue a point, I couldn't care less whether you are male or female just argue it, or if you think bringing up your personal information will give you more credibility. 

 

 

I am for all variables of freedom of speech and criticism and I am willing to partake all forms of argument and debate. I do not appreciate it however when people shut down the idea of debate to begin with because criticism isn't "allowed"

This is about playing different genders in games, either in accordance with your own gender or in opposition to it. Mentioning your gender is not OT, or gratuitous, in this thread. It's not relevant to actual debate, but it helps to form a picture of what kind of people are participating in it.

That's easy enough to answer regarding why I stated I was a female. People love to joke and some actually believe women gamers or woman on forums are men in disguise.

 

I can already tell who is female and male based on how they post

A lot of females play male Inquisitors too, which adds up to more males being made than females.

 

 

 

Oh the horrors of my days on other forums in which people were fooled so badly it turned into drama!

 

 

 

Here I can sum up the population:

 

"Most (over half the population)" . Heterosexual male playing male inquisitor to self insert.

 

Then 50% of these play a female inquisitor on their second and third play throughs just to stare at an ass all game, make a lesbian fantasy, or legitimately try something new

 

<20%. Heterosexual female playing female inquisitor to self insert.

 

"Very Few" Heterosexual female playing male inquisitor, to make a gay fantasy, or legitimately try something new 

 

​Indeterminable amount of actual gays/trans/bi/polarbear slaneesh worshippers playing this game because ironically they are not vocal
