Civil? I was civil, but god forbid say anything about gay community, like for example almost every character in my game is homosexual or bisexual. Doctors saves life's, scientists pushing humanity to a new level but only gay community deserves pride parade, right? What are you pride about? I always play as a woman and only play RPG games that allow for that option. I have no interest in playing as a male as I'm overloaded with the male perspective in most other media.

That just had tons of inaccuracy and you pretty much tried to link all kinds of stuff that isn't really linked.

You know, during a previous thread on this subject, I once sat down and counted all the LGBT characters with speaking parts across the entire Dragon Age franchise. There are about forty of them, and the list is only that long because it includes such vitally important characters as Randomly Bisexual Prison Guard and Dude On A Balcony At Fancy Orlesian Party #1. (And his lover, Dude On A Balcony At Fancy Orlesian Party #2. Can't leave him out.) 

 

Given that there are literally hundreds of characters with speaking parts across the three games and the various spin-offs, forty is really not disproportionate. It is certainly not almost every character in the game. The vast majority of Dragon Age characters are straight, or their sexuality just doesn't come up at all.

I'm female and I enjoy playing both male and female characters... though admittedly, I'm so used to playing male characters, because so many games have them. For Bioware games though, it depends, I prefer female by default... but some of the protagonists have just felt like more masculine or feminine roles to me. That's purely my own personal subjective feeling, but I absolutely prefer FemShep in ME, and Male Hawke in DA2. DAI has a very feminine vibe to me....so female Quizzy it was.

If the group is composed of equal numbers of males and females, observers tend to report that the group is almost entirely female. People don't start reporting that the numbers are actually equal until the percentage of females drops to around 10%. So, in a game where the player base is more or less evenly divided between males and females, untrained observers may very well report that most are female.

Been with both BTW, until my 26 I think? Males are VERY useful when I'm tired and I don't want to move a muscle so I just lay down and let them do all the work
Also when I want to be objectified, males are pefect for that job, so yes they are boring but they can be used for some things, they are just useless for any meaningful emotional connection or deep talk
And god forbid be me saying males are humans, wouldn't wish this kind of ignorance on any being, even the non human ones like males and dogs, it can be deadly mistaking a male of our species for a human
And I'm genetically male and thus subject to all I'm saying about males too, unfortunately, I'm not pretending to hate, I really do, myself included

But we were talking about games right? It is just another "dimension" where males are boring. And when we can choose, WHY THE HELL choose male? It is like choosing to be deformed, stupid and... it is like choosing to be Uma (Witcher 3 google it). Between Dante or Trish choosing Dante is like choosing to have cancer or to loose a limb. Thus, it is only obvious that people don't want to play such disgusting beings like males (which are often mistaken by humans). I have no idea why someone would create a fantasy world where males exist, it is pure masochism and/or sadism (to inflict contanct with males upon the players/readers), but again, fantasy worlds have all kinds of evil, darkness, imperfection, and other bad stuff so I guess males could be accept like the blight. There are some other problems like why wouldn't people with magic just create ways to give birth to babies without needing males and then removing males from the world? It would only be natural. Or, well, the most obvious one, enslaving males to do the most boring works but I don't think they would be needed once we had magic, even as slaves they could be disposed.

I completely ignore male existence, even my brother and father (thank god I don't need to talk to them). As for me as I posted here many times before I'd happily take my own life but I'm too afraid of afterlife (not only of hell, but anything that is not nothingness is unacceptable and I can't force myself to become completely atheist, I tried, well I try) to do it.

(Probably gonna get another ban but whatever right? Males shouldn't exist and it is way too big to ignore. I was doing ok, not even warnings =( )

I can't speak for Ariana, but I read a lot of pain from someone that is going through gender identity issues. Sounds like Arianna hasn't received a lot of empathy from males in her life and that's manifested in a lot of hate. While I don't like hatred either, I'm more concerned about someone's frame of mind when they mention that they hate themselves and are suicidal but too afraid to go through with it right now. That's more concerning to me than all the rest of the post.

Interesting. We do have an in group preference for females over males; it is innate, sometimes called women and children first. It is likely the reason this occurs.

"Objective" and "universal" don't apply here, particularly universal. Cross-cultural interpretations of the ideal form of "beauty" differ wildly, both in modern terms and especially throughout the ages. There may be some small measure of universal constant, indeed, but it pales in comparison to the deviations.
