Is there any indication that BioWare Montreal don't want to tell this story?
I'm sure they do to some degree, it's their enthusiasm I'm wondering about.

Where's that Demi Moore gif from?
A movie from the 90s called Indecent Proposal.

Battlefield 4 uses Frostbite 3 So naturally Andromeda will be a reskinned BF 4...
You know that game engines can be modified to suit whatever game they want to work with, right? It's not just for one type of game genre (eg. shooters like BF4) or whatever. The previous ME games were made using the Unreal Engine which was used to make FPS, RPG, and a whole lot of other games. Some movie studios have even used the UE in film making.

Thanks. That's one of those movies I've heard so much about that actually watching it seems redundant.
The only longterm plan every business is doing......making money!

Mass Effect has always been designed on a "FPS engine" for Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 are all built on the Unreal Engine 3, so I never do understand those type of comments aside from being "I just want to complain" type posts.
Your whole argument there is that Bio could cure your free-floating anxiety by announcing that this is the start of a new trilogy or some such. But there are good reasons for not announcing that. This is a bit of a risky move for the series, and it'd be kind of dumb to increase the risk by announcing a planned trilogy if it turns out that sales don't justify it.

Mass Effect is a very popular series, as long as they make a good game they shouldn't be overly concerned about sales. Yea it's still a risk but they'd probably increase people's interest even more by announcing it's the start of a new trilogy.
Right, you're extrapolating these thoughts about enthusiasm based on very, very little concrete information, none of which actually suggests a lack of enthusiasm.
I know that, but I'm just reading between the lines here and considering their performances and attitudes in the past.
Any AAA series that has released four titles in less than a decade is in money print mode.
Game series that have produced that much in that short of a time are usually plagued by complaints, the source of which is related to how the developers cut corners. Some games have incoherent or non-existent storylines. Others are buggy and unfinished. And some are simply reskins of existing games using copious amounts of borrowed elements from previous games.
Almost all the people whose vision drove this series are gone. That's not to say that newcomers don't have vision, but the corporate overlords are probably not going to bring in someone who's going to rock the boat.
What we can hope for at this point is that the offering has enough style and substance to be enjoyable.
Note that Bio might also consider a trilogy structure to be a mistake. ME became all-but-unworkable by the end.
That was their fault, not because it's a flawed concept. They flat out admitted they didn't plan the trilogy out as well as they should've. They were reaching for the stars without having a real game plan on how to carry through with their promises.
It's not "reading between the lines" if you pull it out of your own butt.
If you say so. I have my reasons to not have all the confidence in the world for Andromeda. And look, ME:A could end up being amazing. When I buy this game I'm going to leave whatever bias and pre-conceived notions behind, pop the sucker into my PS4 and get as lost in the game as I can before I place judgement on it.
But since I'm talking about it now, I don't have a great feeling about this game. And this isn't from me just waking up one day and deciding to be a little pessimistic about it. This is years in the making.

Well said. It also doesn't help that the man who played a heavy hand in the failures of ME3, is the Creative Director of this game.

Looks like FemShep on her bed in the Normandy captain's cabin.
That must be the money she received from every store on the Citadel that she shamelessly endorsed. lol
The tragic thing is that, while Shepard was swimming in credits and revelling in her own awesomeness -- her pet fish died. Again.

I do hope that the original Mass Effect title screen theme makes an appearance in this new title though. I still get chills when I listen to it. I also feel that it captures the whole tone and atmosphere of the Mass Effect universe
It is a brilliant piece
Go in with a negative attitude. See only negatives.
That's what's gonna happen.
Going in with a negative attitude just means you give yourself the chance to be positively surprised if the game actually delivers. After all, a pessimist is never disappointed.
