Hello everyone,

 

playing on PC and having problems with MP since the latest patch. Don't have any problems playing single-player for hours on end, but since the latest patch I CTD in almost every match. Haven't really played MP in the last two weeks, besides soloing the weekend challenges and picked it up again a couple of days ago. Now I can barely finish a match.

 

Never had any problems like this before patch 10. Had the usual lost connection loop, but the number of times I crashed to desktop were minimal, maybe once or twice every few weeks. Tried everything I could think of on my end that I could do to fix. Updated drivers, dialed down the graphic settings, repaired the game and all that jazz. Still crash, no matter who is hosting, what map or what faction.

 

Does anyone else have any problems since the latest patch or before that? Or any kind of idea what I could try to fix this or am I doomed to either play solo or crash whenever I try to play with other people? Would there be any sense in contacting tech support or is everything working as intended?

Have to ask since you're on PC... You haven't got any mods installed? I had, and got CTD in every Drakspawn match until I uninstalled those (SP was fine all the time).

Have mods, but always get rid of my modded patch folder before I start up MP, otherwise if I forget I crash whenever I load into a lobby and start the match.

Then I have no idea, restoring the original patch folder was what worked for me.

I had more CTDs since patch 10 as well. But I also got a new router around that time so maybe those CTDs are not related to patch 10 at all.

Someone else I play with also had a lot of CTDs since about two days ago, same thing where the screen freezes for a second and then the game crashes. Well, at least it's good to know that it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end.

 

Had about four crashes in a Fereldan Castle run just now. Fun. At least the challenge is pretty much done in one match.

I've had the same since the latest patch, alineinabook.

 

No problems playing SP at all. Approximately 130 hours there and zero crashes.

MP on the other hand has been problematic (never used mods so that isn't an issue). I have the exact same symptom where my screen will also freeze for barely a second and then crashes to desktop. This happens every few games.

 

Pre-patch I had maybe 1 crash every few weeks - it was a rare occurrence at least.

I also tried reinstalling/repairing the usual but to no avail either.

I have had about as many crashes in the weeks since the patch as I used to get daily before the patch.

Looks like you all stole my instability! No need to return it, I think I will manage without it.

I do have a NVIDIA card, but was still running the version 353 driver. Only updated to the version 355 driver today in an attempt to fix it, but no such luck.

Try this:

 

1. Run the game on medium graphic settings with no AA (don't fudge)

 

If that doesn't work,

 

2. Change the patch version in the package.mft file (in the update folder) to 12

 

If anyone else is looking for info, make sure you aren't using mods and repair the game via Origin, even if you swap out modded/unmodded folders.

 

FWIW, I also have an nvidia card and only CTD once in a blue moon. It's not the drivers.
