Questions I have about after Trespasser DLC.

Does anyone know what happens to Skyhold after Trespasser?  I'd hate to lose the place after getting it.

If you serve the Divine, Does all the assets you accumulated now belong the the Chantry/Divine?  Does the inquisitor get to keep Skyhold?  What about all the other outposts?   I hate the idea of losing them after capturing them from Bandits and such.

Two years seems so quick for it all to end.

We don't know. The very last Scene is back where we start. At haven.

Which is daft because skyhold even if it was Solas' is still a good base to have

Unless you go underground, away from prying eyes. Staying at Skyhold would be the daft thing to do while most people probably wouldn't look for you in the ruins of Haven.

Also, it's possible you just had that one meeting there before heading to Tevinter.

It hints that At least one of the keeps-crestwood iirc, is returned. So it's safe to assume the majority of the keeps are abandoned or returned to rulers in their respective areas.
If you disband then pretty much everything is gone.
If you become a security force (for divine) then you still basically give-up everything.
Skyhold?
Who knows?
Could've been turned into a parking lot for all we know.
Which I agree its a shame Skyhold should still be the base of operations IMO.

I'm guessing that Ferelden and Orlais has taken joint possession of Skyhold since it's on the border of both nations if the Inquisition is disbanded. If the Inquisition becomes the honor guard of the Chantry then I would imagine that Skyhold becomes the honor guard's headquarters much like the White Spire was for the Templar Order.

I retired and turned Skyhold into my retirement castle.

It would be curious to see what happens in the next game to see if there is any reference to Skyhold.  I still feel Skyhold will play a major role in the series knowing how special that place is.

As for meeting up secretly in Haven's Chantry, I think it was amazing to discover that it was still there.  I had assumed all was lost.

Personally I could not disband the Inquisition knowing what is to come next. Maybe one of my other Inquisitors will disband it.  It just seems sad to see all that hard work as the player accomplished just disappear..... especially knowing what is to come next.

Since it was the place the veil was created, Solas will most likely occupy it.

I am guessing they re-excavated Haven?

When you think of it, the true threat to the Inquisition (and the world) is Solas and it was Solas that lead them to Skyhold. With spies and the fact that he knows more about Skyhold's secret than they'll ever discover, staying there is probably inadvisable. All his agents will need to do is destroy the bridge leading in/out of Skyhold, thus preventing anyone from escaping in a timely manner. This will also prevent allies from helping as well.

With his access to Eluvians, who's to say that there's one hidden somewhere in SKyhold? At least if they move back to Haven all their fortification/ layout will be unique to the Inquisition (barring Solas spies), but most importantly, there will be escape routes + they can always try the Avalanche trick again

He does say he's giving it to you

Remember one of the dialogues between you and Solas is:

"For what it's worth, thanks for the castle."

"For what it's worth, you used it well."

Before I played Trespasser my Lavellan Inquisitor was getting quite attached to Skyhold.   It was the first place he'd lived in for any length of time and the place he associated with his love, Dorian.     However, now it feels tainted and in any case is miles from where he needs to be.   May be they'll keep it as a sort of sanctuary or just abandon it but he's heading north to his new base in Kirkwall, helpfully provided by Varric, before checking up on his clan in Wycombe, because they at least need to know about the Dread Wolf and what he proposes to do.   He's hoping that they can then pass on the information to other clans; don't believe Fen'Harel, we were entirely right about him, he's not to be trusted.  Whether it will get through to them or not is another matter.

The only reason I can think for keeping a force in occupation at Skyhold is that since this was probably the place where he originally formed the Veil, may be he will have to return there as his jumping off point for removing it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ending of the next game takes place there. That's where we'll confront Solas
