Here is a rough build of how my character will be...

Name: Larry-three

Morality: gray/good-ish

Weapons of choice: anything semi-automatic or melee

Background: whichever is the most vague

Class: any that adds a stealth aspect; Infiltrator if it returns.

Sexual orientation: heterosexual

Romancing: whoever is the vixen

Human or alien: both; I am open-minded

Outfits: light armor, maybe medium, hoods if possible; or if armor pieces return, then thin pieces

Mako customization: any that helps it get over hills better; or if aesthetic, then black with violet trimming.

What about you all, community?

All you need is a kevlar mankini, a pack of cigars and a 20 year old single malt.Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Still too early for me, I need some kind of picture on who our main character will be, what they will do and who the companions and LI's will be before deciding such things. At the moment I want to even think, cause I think I'd just come up with character who wouldn't fit to game at all.

How? What would make your character not fit into the game?

The first play-through is the best one because we get a good laugh when a decision we made turns into a horrible outcome, ha.

Same plan as with Shepard, kill aliens, advance human racial interests and get laid.

Hopefully more than what I know now. When DA:I came out I knew I was going to lead a powerful organization and be responsible for saving the world, not to mention an abundance of info about companions, locations, combat etc. That's the kind of info i'm talking about, at this point we don't even know our characters name let alone how they'll interact with and fit into the world.

Agreed. It's way too early for me to be thinking about making characters right now.

I've had a few thoughts about it but that also stems from how fun I think it sometimes is to see how I imaging my character to be before the game's release and how I create them to be after the game's release. What remains is mostly in terms of which class they are and how they look in terms of hair and skin color, sometimes the name remains true as well. I like planning and creating the latter image in my head because I know appearance and name are the two things that I tend to take the longest time with.

Names - I went with famous authors, scientists and composers as naming choices in the Mass Effect trilogy so I may continue that tradition in Andromeda but I'm thinking of going with flower-themed names like I'm planning on doing in the next Dragon Age game. I'm awfully fond of the name Primrose but it may fit a fantasy setting more than a space opera setting. Clementine or Clem I like as well but I'm thinking of going with that for the first of my Fallout 4 characters and I tend to like different names for my individual protagonists.

Perhaps I'll settle for naming the character with an initial and Danger as a surname if it'll allow me otherwise I suppose I'll be going with Danger as a first name because I find that amusing, badass and an indication of the kind of people my character's parents may have been or my character themselves.

Appearance: I prefer to see a bit of the Character Creation like what options it has in terms of tattoos, freckles, scars and hair color before settling the finer details of my characters' appearance. So far I'm considering this in terms of basic appearance: a dark-skinned person of asian ethnicity, a person with albinism and a person with a Native American or Indian look. The first design I am also considering for the first of my male Pathfinder characters.

I also had a Saint Row character whose design I rather liked that I may use if the game allows it in terms of options: she had freckles, non-dark red hair and pale skin with flowery tattoos... and a high-pitch voice with a French accent but the last one would be a very surprising implementation. She was such an adorkable badass.

Class: I tend to play whichever class allows me to make use of a sniper rifle as my first character's class so depending on how much they may change how the classes are, I'd say odds are high I'll be playing an Infiltrator sort of a character.

The only exception I could see to that would be if our class determines an origin for our characters which case I may change class to whichever allows me to have the most civilian-like or non-combative origin.

Nah. I never plan out the first file. Doing so, to me, means having to make at least a couple of assumptions on how the game will be presented, how its story will be told, and how free to express themselves my character will be. That could lead to disappointments I bypass by rolling with things on the fly my first time around.

stupid question, considering we know nothing about weaponry or anything related to alignment.

I have a few very vague outlines currently. Once we get more information I'll start filling them in more.

I hadn't put any thought into it, and I'll likely change my mind a few times when I get to the character creator, but here's what appeals right now:

Name: Seven/Alyss/Ren (or something equally sci-fi that flows well with whatever surname we get).

Sex: Female

Age: Mid 30s.

Hair: Short-ish, practical, blonde, maybe a little edgy.

(Appearance-wise, think Katee Sackhoff in the movie "Riddick".)

Katee-Sackhoff-Riddick.jpg

Class: Soldier or Vanguard.

Weapon of Choice: Assault rifle. Omni-blade. Any grenade that makes a shockwave and a deep, powerful chuumfflOOOFH sound.

Morality: Think "female Jack Bauer". Does what's right, but not always in the most diplomatic fashion.

Background: Military brat, looking for adventure, but underwent some trauma early in her career that made her realize war isn't a game.

Sexual Preference: "Straight", unless her perfect match happens to be a woman. Also quite content to stay single if nobody has the guts to come onto her.

Mako: Built for indestructibility. The space-age Nolan Batmobile. If Thersher Maws don't flee in terror at its approach, it still needs work.

I usually come up somewhat detailed things, since I'm not playing as myself. Well for example if I'm imagining carefree treasure hunter as my main character and then we end up being colonialist military leader then it can destroy my plans. Same as if there is no LI to fit my character, I don't like no-romance playthroughs so I have to change my characters a bit and I don't really like that. Did some of that with DAI since romances and gates came out somewhat late for my liking.

I'm gonna make the most useless character the first playthrough, just to see how bad I can screw up the Andromeda galaxy. A soldier with minimal armor and only a SMG.

I'll most likely be playing as an Adept if classes as we know them return... that's about it. Too early to come up with details, I'd probably forget most of it in 1+ year anyway.

I wanted to try a Parangon Vortcha or a Renegade Asari. If impossible (only human CC), want to try to be a Leroy Jethro Gibbs in space. But for that I need to be able to punch my companions (exept the Krogan woman, don't want a shotgun ceremony...).
