For example, when you turn on 'Trial of the emperor' or 'Trial of the hermit', is there any way to confirm how many kill did you made?
How can you confirm the on going status of Trespasser's trial?

Don't know about other systems, but on Xbone you can see the percentage you've completed in the achievements section.

I'm on PC/Origin. Can't see any ways to confirm.

How do you activate them at all? I can't figure out where they are.

You need to have a save loaded, then in the PAUSE menu, you do Options. Trials are second fro mthe top.

You can set the trials to be on before starting a new game as well.

One of my fellow DQers tried that, and said you can't. Either he didn't see it, or it's not there...
Can't say for myself though.

my trials achievement playthrough has them set up while starting a new game via the custom difficulty selection and they work fine.

Oh. Beren must've missed that, then. I recall him saying he turned them on AFTER talking to Cassie outside Haven Chantry.

For the bears, you count, it's as simple as that.
I still haven't figured out how to do the Walk Softly one. I tried to go around looking for these "Special foes" that are supposed to spawn but haven't found any...
Anyone has a SS of what they look like????

Hrm, that's disappointing if I missed it. Still, it turned out to not be a concern. My main concern was fair weather friends, but enabling it after speaking with Cassie still gave me the achievement when I made it to the Winter Palace.
@almasy87: I don't know of any way to actually track progress in game. It just popped up when I killed the, er, what was it, 20th?

For Walk Softly, use the tactical cam and hover the cursor over the enemy. The ones you need will say 'promoted'. Even normal animals, such as goats or halla can be promoted.

Yeah. Currently working on that one. Let me tell ya, Level 27 Elite Nugs are THE SH*T.

I was at the Exalted Plains gathering some halla leather and I had forgotten I had Walk Softly on. One halla was promoted and had 20k hit points. Now my entire party was melee only, so I felt like Benny Hill chasing after it across the plains with a boatload of wolves trailing.

Two almost assuredly require a new game. Trial of the Lovers and Trial of the Fool.

Go into your options menu when you have a character loaded. You'll see a new "Trials" section. They are basically special setting you can enable to alter the game mechanics for specific things, allowing you to earn achievements. The achievements are viewable by right-clicking your DAI icon in Origin and selecting "View Achievements" then going down to the Trespasser section. That is, of course, PC specific. I have no idea how consoles view achievements.

They are a mechanism to make the game more difficult: one makes enemies level up with you while another removes all supply caches. You can toggle any combination of trials on/off at any time in the options menu.
While there is an achievement associated with each trial, trials also gain you in-game rewards.

The first one I got was "acquired leeches." I wasted some time searching the crafting materials inventory because I thought, you know, actual leeches. Nope. Dagger!

If it had been 'acquired breeches', I bet Sera would have approved. ![]()
