How do you tend to outfit your party's potions/tonics/grenades?

Originally I played this game on Normal. You... really don't need much beyond healing potions on Normal, heh. Nightmare is a different story. I'm loving discovering new recipes I wasn't even aware existed before (somehow I missed Mighty Offense and Healing Mist for example) and I was wondering if y'all have guidelines on who gets set up with what.

In particular I adore Antivan Fire. :D My rogues all have it, including my Lavellan. Tis quite flashy.

For NM I tended to use Pitch Grenade and Bees (both fully upgraded). Pitch slows enemies, reduces the damage they do, and increases damage they take. Bees can also do a lot of damage; Regen (fully upgraded for area effect) and whatever resistance I needed for dragon fights. Confusion Grenades are also good for enemies that are immune to slowdown (like Hakkonite spies, if you have Jaws of Hakkon).

As for who gets what, for the battle against Coryface, I usually outfit each person with 1 type of resistance (fully upgraded gives area effect so everyone benefits) and then 1 type of grenade. When only certain resistance is needed, which is most of the time, then I give quizzy 2 grenades and 1 person, usually a warrior, the regen potions. Sometimes I'll give Dorian or Solas the Healing Mist as well.

Sera gets bonus slots due to her specialization, or you can equip someone with a belt for more slots.

Typically regen is a mandatory slot for everyone.

I use bees on my rogue varric

Mighty offense on bull for his 2hd dps

Healing mists on my tank, Cass

lyrium potion on my mage inquis. Though I'm considering picking something else, because I regularly forget to use it.

I hardly use them, but I play on casual so... dragon fights are the primary instance where these see action. My non-mage people get rejuvenation potions and healing grenades and the mages get lyrium potions and healing grenades.

a mighty offense tonic and a regeneration potion for each warrior.

A lyrium potion for each mage. Healing mist for my Inquisitor and Vivienne, pitch grenade for dorian and confusion grenade for Solas

A mighty offense tonic for every rogue, jar of bees for Sera (ugh, so predictable), antivan fire for varric and tears of the dead for Cole.

Helps to keep the team balanced.

Rock Armor and Spirit Resistance tonic on the tank

Mighty Offense and Pitch grenade on rogue/warrior dps

Lyrium potion and Bees on mages.

I think Rock Armor is pretty underrated in general. That last upgrade is killer and it lasts a pretty long time.

Pretty much this, although i carry a healing mist on all ranged companions (mages and archers) while i always carry a jar of bees on Blackwall instead of a regen potion since he rarely takes health damage and in case i want to use the ttd bees shenanigans lol.

Nightmare

Perks: 12 health, 3 potion slots -- I don't bother with belts of potions/grenades, due to the "lose one" bug

Regular Questing: Regen fully upgraded, grenades (see below)

Dragon Hunting: Regen fully upgraded, (Fire, Cold, Electricity) Defense Tonic

Grenades: Bees (fully upgraded), Antivan Fire (fully upgraded)

I put Bees on up to three party members with the highest crit, since crit chance appears to be applied to Bees DoT.

I put Antivan Fire on everyone else.

Mighty Offense for warriors and rogues on special occasions.

I prefer gin with my tonics.

More seriously, Bees, Confusion and Mighty Offense tend to be the most used apart from the obvious regen.

I just slap regen potions on everyone and away I go. I don't bother with anything else, I see no need when everything dies so quickly.

My tanks get Rock Armor and Rejuvenating Potion, my Rogues get Bees and the ehm...toxic weapon one. Mages get Healing Mist and either Rejuvenating Potion or bees. And my Inky usually gets Healing Mist and Rejuvenating Potion.

Tanks be tanking seriously with rock armor tonic. Ogres and Hakkon brutes do 1 damage to my tanks during duration. With flow of battle, they spam war cry increasing armor. Underrated tonic.

Antivian fire. On everyone. That's it.
