How do I use abilities that slow down power use?

Hai Guyz,

I rarely use tech armor in an offensive manner. I usually just leave it on all the time, and choose abilities that aren't really affected by power cooldown(E.G. grenades). Does anyone else do this, or do they actually remember that their armor can explode? I do the same with Geth Hunter mode, as well as Vorcha rage.

My advice is to get accustomed to the cooldown time with those powers active that slow power use, because the benefit of those power slowing powers is greater than the negligible increase in recharge speed you get without them.

try my old hybrid krodept, and spam barrier each time theres more than one mook. Dont put barrier on though, just double tap it fast.

warp for closing, wraith shot or SW depending on closeness, barrier double tap and/or melee what s left

Depends.  Am I playing a power class or a weapon class.  If I'm playing a power class I either A just use it for the detonation or B make damn sure I take the cool down penalty reduction at rank 6.(20% isn;t that bad especially when you are 40% dmg reduction boy/girl).  If I'm not a power class, I go for maximum durability and my carnage or whatever being slow isn't that big of a deal as I have some grenades and lots of krogan rage.

I turn them on and then I don't worry about the cooldown penalty.

I was curious as to whether I was the only person who did that.

I never detonate. There are times when I probably should but if I'm in that position then the enemies are too close anyway.

Tech Armor detonation is great for killing Swarmers and nets you ~500 extra score for a full batch

Or you can just use cooldown evolution which almost makes it feel like you lose no cooldown from said tech armour or whatever.

You don't really need to worry about the cool down penalty unless your character is seriously over weighed ie javelin and spitfire which could add a few seconds extra cool down to tech armour, but then I guess your build would be far less focused on powers.
I think the rule of thumb is that if your weight is +140 or better then your power's cool downs are not affected that much anyway.

But for tech armour detonations, try this build http://kalence.drupa...34652384!6FEB5S
Turn on annihilation field and tech armour, run in, detonate tech armour! And once the easy waves have passed, you can then play the classic build of using annihilation field followed by warp for BEs and talon shots to cause serious damage.

Lolcooldown. Ignore the penalty and slap a Claymoar on it (this advice works for every kit and build in the game).

I usually save detonating powers for soloing, even in situations where cooldowns are reasonable

They are great to put down next to doors or stairs in COD

If I'm using those weapons, then yes, I don't care about cooldown. But when I'm using +200 weight weapon setups, that's when I want my cooldowns & combos as fast as possible.

I never have any problem using powers along with abilities that slow down power use.  I just use those powers slightly less frequently.

Tech armor gains power damage times 9000 when you're drunk and scream TECH ARMOR at your enemies when you kill them. Moderately effective against coworkers and minions.
