If I were the writer, I would never make Sera Andruil. Solas is the spotlight, the antagonist, and I want to make his story special. He being the dread wolf, his true identity is surely one of the element to achieve the goal. And sera being andruil? Producing revealing a bunch of legendary elven so call gods would just make the reveal of solas identity cheap.

I'm no lore expert, that's only me trying to think from a writer perspective. At least until now, in this thread, I don't see any convincing/reasonable/systematic analysis and evidence about the sera andruil theory.

How about the fact that Sera could be kicked out off the inquisition anytime? This sort of make her special from other companion, I suppose, but why do this if she is such an important character?

I don't see it. Andruil was not afraid of the Void. Quite the opposite, apparently. She went there to kill its (presumably freaky) inhabitants for sport. Then, despite going temporarily mad, opted to go back, multiple times. And even wear the Void. That doesn't sound like fear.

That's why I said trauma. Mythal removed Andruil's knowledge of the Void (according to the Codex). In my head, this caused the trauma, and why Serandruil is actually very afraid of magic.

I see it the same way as I see Revan: Former Dark Lord gets mindwiped, becomes a new person. I'm not saying this is true, and I have no evidence, but speculation for everyone!  :wizard:

I'm not really pro Sera = Andruil, but your knee-jerk reactions kinda makes me wish it was true.

Why does it hurt you that other people come up with crazy theories and they discuss it? Even more so if you know (well as much as you can know) that it's not true? That should make it all the more easier for you to ignore it.

If I see a theory I don't agree with then I either voice an alternative that I think is more plausible so we can discuss it peacefully, or I ignore the topic entirely when I disagree completely or it really is just that preposterous. I don't go in their thread for the sole purpose to **** all over it.

You know, live and let live. And manners. I guess they elude you.

A 1000x this.

It just feels a bit too random, and really wouldn't serve much for the narrative other than that the Inquisitor is, for some reason, attracting all these ancient whatevers. In any case, the opportunity to reveal any crazy things about Sera came and went with Trespasser.

I always figured there was more to Sera than meets the eye. Kinda fits that she rejects anything elfy cause deep down in her subconscious she knows what she truly is (andruil).

Okay I have two things to say:

  1. The Fool Card that Sera's tarot is based on is not Sera standing over the void....it's Sera standing on the shingled roof of the tavern, it seems more likely it's just a reference to her rooftop baking scene, I.e the one where she explains her life to you and really starts to consider you a true friend. The fool is normally a vagabond and so was Sera until the Inquisition gave her something greater. Like all of the Tarots it holds a deeper meaning but it's not of an Elf-God, it's an outsider that found a home....exactly like the rest of Sera's arc.
  2. It is true that Sera's natural knack for archery, and her unstable nature are reminiscent of Andruil. But that's all it really needs to be. The Evunaris were people, and based on Solas' familiarity with Mythal it seems likely that Solas was always one of them or at least someone of interest to the Evunaris, so he would likely have known and even befriended them. I think that if there is any link between Sera and Andruil that Solas is picking up on it's one he wants to see. Remember, Solas' greatest fear is dying alone and his greatest regret is creating the veil, if he met someone who reminded him of one of his old friends from a time before they became evil I think he would try to reach out to them however he could.

I think people are putting way too much emphasis on race, in regards to the way Solas relates to people and the modern elves. This point is driven home throughout the game that isn't so much about race, and he explains in Trespasser that people (including the modern elves) weren't "real" and weren't "people" to him because they were like the Tranquil.

I think his story arc is meant to mirror Felassan a bit. He joins the Inquisition under cover, and he doesn't view them as people, but as tools to achieve his own ends (to regain the orb, etc). Over time he gets too close and starts to view them as friends, and they become real. The Inquisitor becomes "real" because of their wisdom and thoughtfulness, proving they aren't just tranquil/automatons to be used.... leading to his crisis point when he leaves, because he knows he still intends to go through with his plan, despite this revelation. Think Destroy ending Shepard in ME3, about to sacrifice the entire Geth race, after just making peace and deciding Legion has a soul... not a perfect comparison, but I see it as kind of a similar moral conflict from his perspective.

As for Sera, she has interesting banter with Dorian too. I think it's implied she's a mage who learned to suppress her magic as a child. I'm not discounting the theory she could also be connected to the ancient elves somehow, though. Maybe the modern elves are descendants of the Evanuirs, in much the same way the dwarves are implied to be connected to the Titans. But I think it's not really the Evanuirs Solas really plans to restore, but the people he was trying to save from them in the first place.

Sometimes Solas says "our" people even to an elven Inquisitor.

About Sera , she isn't special , she's just an elf ..

She is special

I was going to argue that whatever is going on with Sera can't be too important since you can play through Inquisition without ever seeing her... But then I remembered you can play through Origins without ever seeing Leliana, and yet she still has a big role in Inquisition.

Anyway, I don't believe Sera is Andruil's vessel. At the moment, at least, there's really no reason to think that the Evanuris are not locked up.

So many people dislike Sera. Most of the arguemnts I see in this thread are purely emotional. It's her accent and vocabulary, isn't it? Cause shes not really stupid as much as she is ignorant or, in *many* cases, feigns ignorance.

All elves you meet are ancient elves. Everyone is some super important person that had a role a thousand or so years before.
